I am a total coaster chicken. I get sweaty over the drop in potc. Malestorm makes me nearly freak out. Yes, there is something wrong with me. Any way, I'm going to Disney in October with my 2 youngest children 10 and 13, and my father and stepmother. They all like coasters. I'm worried about the new fastpass system. In the past, I'd just sit out when everyone else rode something like space mountain (and didn't get a fastpass for it). Now, How do I make fast pass reservations? I CANT do something like everest. But I'd hate to miss out on having the oportunity to get 4th (or more) fastpasses together. What am I supposed to do? I cant be the only one who doesn't like certain rides that travels with people who do. Advice please. This really makes me nervous :worried:

if you're not going to use it, why would you need a 4th fastpass? Or, if you wanted to use the 4th fastpass for something other than coasters so everyone can do it, just book the same fastpasses as everyone else, and scan your MB, but don't go on the ride. It still counts it as riding, but you don't need to do anything you don't want to do.

You don't have to use your 3 FPs in order to get a 4th (or more) one, if that's what you're thinking; once the return window ends, the FP is considered used whether it was actually used to get on a ride or not. So you can book a FP for EE (or any other ride) for everyone in your group and either let yours expire, or let someone else in your group use it (just give them your MB), then when all three have been used, book the fourth.

You can make your FP+ for whatever you want to do. Your party does not have to have the same FP+ experiences. They can get theirs for the thrill rides and you can get yours for something else at the same time. It just takes a little more planning. Have fun.

I would make a FP for myself at something close by, if that's not possible I'd book a FP with my family and just not ride.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough, Id like to do everything else besides the coasters with my family. But if they have 2 coaster fastpasses and I don't and we all have a non coaster fastpass, then they have used 3 and I have used one, how can we make other fastpass reservations together If I have only used one? Can I just book myself and not go on? Can I scan it and not ride? (I'm on the verge of phobic over the feeling of "falling")

Could you just make the FP reservation for everyone in your party (including yourself), go with them to the line, scan into the FP line, and then bail out before getting on the ride? I'm pretty sure most of the thrill rides have an "seconds thoughts" exit.

You don't have to use your three fps to get a fourth. As long as the time has expired you can get another whether you made it in the ride or not.

If there is nothing else you want to do while they ride, get the FP and go through the line with them. When you get to the loading area, tell the CM you decided not to ride. They will direct you to an exit.

If there is something you want to do while they ride a coaster, make your FP for that and get theirs for the coaster at the same time.

I'd schedule all your FP's together. Then go back and change yours to something else nearby at the same time (or with an overlapping window). You could ride Buzz when everyone else was on Space Mountain. If you don't want to ride something else, you could just walk through the FP line with your family and then take the "chicken" exit before boarding. It will make your split with them shorter, "use up" your FP, and let you see some of the theming.

Don't worry about being a chicken. Some people find the rush of adrenaline intoxicating while others find it freaks them out. If you're in the freak-out group there isn't much you can do about it. If you're just uncomfortable, you could try riding a slightly scary ride multiple time and see if your brain decides there really isn't anything to get over-excited about.

It seems others have given you the same idea while I was typing out my looong post!

I haven't used the new system but with your example-
they have 3 fast passes- 2 for coasters and 1 for a ride that you will also ride

Couldn't you book just the 1 fp in advance (the one you will ride together) and then after they use all 3 of theirs you can all book one together with it being their 4th and your 2nd. You don't have to book them in advance. Unless you wanted to get them at a separate park I would think that would work. Or you could fp something nearby so you have something to do while they are riding the coasters.

No, it's all or nothing. You have to book 3 at once.

So book to rides late at night? Then just move them up to when the rest of the family gets a 4 FP+.... Also you could delete a FP+ as well.... No reason to take up a FP+ because the 4th FP+ would only be an issue if you were park hoping. If your family gets their 4th FP+ on Peter Pan you could just move up a FP+ you had scheduled at like 7PM for instance.

I usually just make the same FP's as everyone else and wait outside while they ride. I prefer to refer to myself as the professional purse holder.

I am a non-coaster rider.
Personally, I prefer to wait with the group, then hop over the ride or take the chicken exit, rather than wait on a bench or in a shop by myself.

It has never been any problem, but know that if you want to wait in a FP line, you have to have a FP even if you have no intention of riding. I haven't used FP+, but I've had to pull FP from space mountain just to wait with my group :)

Totally agree. You remain with your family for the entire time except for when they are doing the actual coaster. It's very easy to do. I needed to do this for five years while my neck healed and my husband rode the coasters. I will tell you this - the Twilight Zone area to wait for your group is awesome! And all the Cast Members during my time were wonderful. You just say "X to ride, one to exit" and it's all done. Disney World rocks with this.
