its on the news that there have been reports of explosions at 3 tube stations and 1 incident on a bus in central london
apparently the explosions appear to be designed to cause smoke and not loss of life !!

This is terrible, I cant believe its happened so soon. Reports are now saying a bus has had its windows blown out and some explosions on the tube, it sounds like suicide bombers but something went wrong and the bombs didnt detonate properly thank god.

:sad2:

Hopefully it wasn't really another terror attack, just some idiot's idea of a laugh.

I hope when they find the people involved they are dealt with most severely.

Alan.

MSNBC had it as an alert before, but have downgraded the story. Hopefully it isn't that critical of an incident.

It sounds like someone trying to scare and casue chaos rather than actually take lives.

from sky news:

There have been unconfirmed reports of an explosion on the London Underground, and an incident on a bus in Hackney, East London.

Stations at Warren Street, Oval and Shepherd's Bush have been closed.

British Transport Police say one person has been injured at Warren Street station.

Services on the Victoria, Northern and Hammersmith & City Lines have been suspended.

Emergency services started receiving calls just after 12.30.

At Warren Street there were reports of shots and a nail bomb explosion. Sky's Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt said police believe this may have been the sound of detonators going off.

A Transport for London spokesman said: "There is a Code Amber which means that the trains are being taken to the next station and passengers evacuated to above ground.

"Police are at all three stations."

Victoria Line train passenger Ivan McCracken told Sky News he spoke to an Italian man who witnessed an explosion just after the train arrived at the platform.

"He told me he had seen a man carrying a rucksack which suddenly exploded. It was a minor explosion but enough to blow open his rucksack. Everyone rushed from the carriage. People evacuated very quickly. There was no panic.

"I didn't see anyone injured but there was shock and fright.

"There was a smell of smoke."

"The man who was holding the rucksack looked extremely dismayed."

Just saw all this :( Not again!

BBC reporting at least one person injured and a bus had its top deck windows blown out.

Scary. My thoughts for everyone down in London today.

Let's just hope that these vermin are caught and dealt with in the most appropriate manner.
I think we all need to be a little more vigilant as these people look set on causing more upset.

Its caused more confusion than anything, is it a terror attack? or a stupid stupid prank, if its a prank its a very sick one! :sad2:

News coming in of an arrest by armed police near the gates of Downing Street.

This is very worrying stuff :(

Might be related, but arrests at Downing St/Whitehall are not unheard of. You get a lot of cranks, legitimate protesters who take things too far, pranksters, etc. I used to work nearby, and security alerts and temporary closures on Whitehall and parliament Sq. happened quite often.
