London hotel help!!

My family is travelling to London in July 2011. We are taking a cruise from Barcelona, but really want to explore London for a few days.

However... we have 3 children. Does anyone have any suggestions for a London hotel that will allow a family of 5 for a reasonable price? We originally had hoped to be by the London Eye.

Location wise you can't beat the Premier Travel Inn at County Hall. This is right next door to the London Eye.

I think their family rooms take 2 adults and 2 children so you may require 2 rooms.

You'll struggle to find a hotel that can accommodate a family of five in one room.

What kind of price region (per night) are you looking at?

Hi we stay here whenever we're in London. They've got a couple of family rooms that sleep 5 or 6. It's not the Ritz but it's clean and comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. It's fairly well situated, about 15 minutes walk from the London Eye ~ and in July you will feel safe walking back there in the evening if you don't want to take a cab.

DH wants to book this too, although we'll have to go in August as I'm now working in a school and daren't ask for any more time off!! I don't know what to do ~ I so much want to cruise again but it will mean dipping into our California fund.

I stayed here recently when in London with work. It is a nice hotel

I'm not sure of your budget, but a great place for families is http://www.athenaeumhotel.com/default.aspx

You can get an apartment that should accomodate you all - couold be cheaper than 2 hotel rooms elsewhere. The kids concierge is great, they email you before your stay to see what kind of things the kids would like in the room - DS, Wii etc. They have some decent offers too, so it's worth a look.

It's in Mayfair so not right next to the London Eye, but in saying that, central London is very easy to get around and you are not too far away. GL with your choice!
