I am sure you checked, but my mother's cat will slip into her clothes closet without mom seeing her! Mom will be searching frantically for her, calling her name, worried she may have slipped outside. The cat just sits in the closet, and not a peep out of her!..........Just a thought.

My cat does the same thing, especially if he suspects that a car trip might be in the offing if he comes out. After housesitting for my parents with him once, it was time to go home and I was all packed; all I needed was him. We turned the house upside-down for TWO STINKIN' HOURS looking for that cat, and it turned out that he was hiding inside a suitcase in the spare room in the back of the closet. Grrrr.

Prayers said for your Kitty's return. If it was raining she may have been hiding under a bush and was too afraid to come out. I have gone out with a can of tuna and a can opener. Mine were scared btu eventually would come out for that.

I know this is TMI but this pic reminded me of when I was younger. Say a friend and I were talking, face to face. As she was talking, I would keep looking behind her. She would eventually wonder what I was looking at. With a "scared to death face" I would look at her and say- "whatever you do, DO NOT turn around!!!" I would scare the bejeezus out of them! Well, actually I would do that now to someone
