I am looking for a restaurant for dinner for our last night. Thus far our plan for the day is to use that day as our free day, to either go back to whichever park we need more time at, see resorts or do shopping. We are a party of 4 adults and 1 9 year old girl. We will be there the first week of December.

We will probably head to Fort Wilderness when it is dark to see the campsites all decorated for Christmas.

So I am looking for a restaurant to eat, probably for a 5 or 6pm dinner, but not in a park so we maintain our flexibility.

We already have reservations for our first night at Narcoossee's and will be at Le Cellier (yes the CP package, I scored!) on our 2nd to last night.

We like steak (but that will be the night before), Italian, chicken, fish for some of the party. So a place with variety (some are not too adventurous) and while cost is not really a focus, it is the end of our trip, so the budget will have been put to the test all week.

Thought about Trail's End but not sure about a buffet being special enough, especially that one. So I would love suggestions for something special for us to end our trip and then we will head to the Fort to cap off our trip.

Thanks so much!

As a suggestion, you may want to try one of the Wilderness Lodge restaurants, Artist Point or Whispering Canyon. Wilderness Lodge really gets into the Christmas decorations and would be a fun place to walk through before dinner and your trip over to Ft Wilderness. Artist Point is more of a fine dining restaurant, so it will be the more expensive of the two. The food is excellent. Whispering Canyon is more of a family restaurant (all-you-can-eat BBQ), loud, but fun. I'd say the food is OK (above average). From the Wilderness Lodge, you can take a boat over to Ft Wilderness.

Anyway - I agree with going to Whispering Canyon.
Fun loud and in the area you want to be.

Artist Point is more upscale and has some unique items.

I was also going to suggest taking the boat over to WCC at the WL so that you could take in that lovely resort all decorated for Christmas. They serve a decent steak over there...personally, I would avoid the all-you-can-eat skillet.

forgot to add we will have a car so getting around is a non-issue.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. Keep 'em coming!

We like to end our trip with a character meal (it has always been breakfast at Cape May or Chef Mickeys) before catching a flight in the PM. For dinner, we like the food at Chef Mickey's the best although they are all similar (again, average food - fun, loud atmoshpere).

Would you consider another signature restaurant? Citricos sounds likes a nice finale to your vacation.

How about 'Ohana? The food pleases everybody and how better to end a wonderful trip than with a feast?

tony67,I'm wondering why my capital J in Jerusalem was changed to lower case jerusalem in your post?

Have you tried the Japanese restaurant in Epcot? the San Angel Inn at the Mexico pavillion is also great.

Trail's End is pretty enjoyable and would put you closest to be for resort touring afterwards. WL is also very pretty but WCC has a somewhat limited menu; look it up on wdwinfo or allears and see whether it really has enough choices for everybody. For a better buffet, perhaps Cape May? Seafood plus ribs available there, and it's not as high-priced as some.

Or consider a 'good' CS for your last night, in order to not be tied down to a specific reservation time & location. Contempo Cafe in the CR is an interesting option and again puts you a fun boat ride away from FW. That would certainly help the budget. And because it's not such a huge sit-down dinner, after your final park/resort touring is done for the night you could cap off your stay by a late-night dessert feast - maybe massive ice creams at Beaches & Cream over at the BW?

We like to book our last meal at DTD so we can relax and shop and have a great meal at Fultons!
