Logistics questions.

We already purchased 2 day park to park tickets for Universal and plan on going for the last 2 days of our Disney trip. However, the annual pass holder hotel rates and the benefits of staying onsite (e.g. unlimited express pass and early entrance) seem really good, so I was thinking of checking out of our Disney hotel 1 day early and staying onsite at one of the Universal hotels. We probably plan to visit Universal again next year so we could use the passes again.

If I can book a room at a annual pass holder rate when do I have to show my annual pass ? Do I have to show the annual pass at check in ? I was going to upgrade our tickets to preferred for myself and power for the rest of the family. I was going to upgrade at the gate when we enter the park on our 1st day. However, if we do stay onsite at Universal, we are planning on checking into the hotel first and then go to the park. I really don't want to go to the park first, upgrade to the annual passes and then check into the hotel and then go back to the park.

Where do we pick up the unlimited express passes - from the hotel or from the park ?

Thanks !

The ease of daying onsite at USO is really nice. Do the math, if it is a good deal to have AP rates and you will visit more than a few days, take it. Know the AP is also good for 10% off most food and store purchases inside the parks and some in CityWalk too.

I ordered my AP online, and just showed my receipt when I checked in at RPH. Never asked me again for the AP, and charged me the AP rate. I would think if you said you are getting an AP, you would just show the AP before checkout.

The express pass is now from a picture taking machine right in the hotel's lobby. Just put your hotel key in , the machine takes your picture, and out pops your express pass to use the day you check in, the days you are there, and the day you check out. It is a great perk.

We love USO and will always try to stay onsite.

Don't worry about it, you can check in without the AP just fine. They will tell you when they need to see the AP.

you can book with the ap rate without having the ap at that time.

once you check in, and if asked to show your ap, tell the hotel clerk you will be obtaining the AP once you go to the parks.

just show your ap to validate the aph rate you booked before you check out.

if they ask for the proof of the ap and you don't get one, your booking rate will change to rack rate.
