hi, everyone! We have done a M & G at Launch Bay with Darth Vader and Chewbacca. We are trying the Chase Disney Visa M & G today. I understand it's from 4-8pm and to show my card (we've done it at DCA before).

My questions:
1) how early should I line up? I expect the park to be very busy today. I was thinking 3:15 or 3:30 max or is that overkill?

2) where do I line up?

3) is it only Darth Vader or could it also be Chewbacca or Boba Fett?

4) where do we pick up the picture (at the Photopass store near Plaza Inn)?

5) have the lines been long/slow?

TIA!!! :thumbsup2

We've done the Visa M&G twice (both on weekends, as well as observed the line while in Launch Bay on a couple of other occasions). It's located on the right side of the Cantina area, behind the glass cased displays of the Imperial ships. There's a small sign on the wall for it in a small alcove, and the CMs start setting up the podium to give you the photo voucher and note your name and last four digits of your CC around 3:30. They tell you to form the line against the wall with the large Death Star picture. Every time we've seen the line around 4:00 it's always been long. If you want to get it done early, I'd suggest showing up at 3:30. That said, we've gone by there at 5:30 before and the line was non existent. We also went by there once at 7:30 and the line was non existent. Both times we did the M&G it has been Vader. And yes, you can pick up the pic at the Main Street photo shop.

We went yesterday at 6:45 and had two people in front of us. The CMs told us to come after 6 when it is never busy. People line up after 3 when they could come later and not wait at all! We only saw Darth Vader, Chewbacca was for everyone to see.

Thank you everyone! We want to do the M & G around 4 cuz we need to eat dinner by 5 cuz DH has to leave us for a dinner appointment to meet his brothers.

We will plan to line up around 3:15! :thanks:

Note that unlike the Chase Visa M&G in DCA, this one is for credit cards only, no debit cards.

Where is that information coming from? Did you actually show up with a debit card and get turned away? Is there a sign posted? Or is this just a rumor that is floating around based on an assumption?

I agree that it only applies to the credit card & not the debit card. When one applies to the credit card, it states M & G in the parks are one of the perks.

I can confirm credit card only, as I have seen people turned away with debit cards

Same here. While we've waited in the line, CMs walk down the line and have made an effort to tell guests that this M&G is for the credit card only and not the debit card.

Is that making the line any shorter?
We hope to get in a couple of times, but DGD is only 2, so not sure how it will go.
She loves Darth Vader!

OP here! 1st person here for the line! Sent DH and DD in to meet Boba Fett and see Cantina for 1st time.

OP here. So when we arrived around 3:20, one of the CM's acted like I shouldn't line up so early. I just didn't want to return to a huge line full of people. We were first. I didn't notice more people to line up until about 3:30-3:35. They promptly started at 4:00pm. When we exited the area, there were sooooo many people in line!

The rest of the evening was such a crazy blur! We got caught in the Christmas parade coming into DL and also PTN parade after a ride. We were forced to go in one direction and had to meet DH. It wasn't until we were on our tram ride home that I FORGOT to redeem our free photo!!!

What are those little trading cards they give you in that area for? boba fett, vader, chewbaca.

Our party was indeed turned away with a debit card, although we have done the Chase Visa M&G in DCA multiple times.

If you look on the Chase website under Disneyland theme park perks for Disney Visa, it very clearly lists the information for the special Star Wars Visa meet and greet. Someone quoted the text in a post above. If you then look at the corresponding Disneyland theme parks perks webpage for the Disney debit card, the omission of the Star Wars meet and greet info is quite glaring. There is no info on the web suggesting that the debit card qualifies for this special meet and greet. The CMs at the meet and greet are quite clear that you need to have a Disney Visa card, not debit card. One CM I spoke to said that she heard that debit card holders received some sort of mailing that implied they would have access to the meet and greet. I have not seen the mailing, which in itself is interesting. I have both a Disney Visa card and Disney debit card. The only mailing I received was sent to me as a Disney Visa cardholder letting me know I could change my card design and telling me about the new Star Wars meet and greet. I wonder if another mailing went out to Disney Visa debit card holders also telling about these new perks but soliciting these debit card holders to apply for a Disney Visa. With two such similarly named products that have such similar perks, maybe the distinctions between the two of them weren't clear enough in whatever this mailing was. As someone who already had both the debit and credit card, maybe I didn't get targeted with that mailing, and that's why I haven't seen it.

I've also seen CMs turn people away for the debit card AND expired credit cards.
