I may be thinking about a trip to universal in July and want to make sure i understand the upgrade deal.

If i book what i call a reg old room at RPH, i would get a upgrade when i made the ressie (what is the upgrade i mean what type of room)

then when i arrive for extra $35.00 a night if available i can get a suite upgrade.

thanks for the help

i have the loews gold card and booked for rph this fall.

i booked the standard room and the reservationist at universal upgraded me to a pool view. she said loews people get the upgrade when they ask for it at the time of booking.

so i know if you book a standard, your upgrade is pool view.

looking at the loewsfirst site, it does say the next upgrade would cost $35 if available at check in.

so i think what you are asking:

regular room is called a standard room
upgrade is to a pool view

macraven is correct. You would book a standard room and be upgraded to a pool view at the time of reservation if you are paying a qualifying rate which is AAA, Loews, or rack. At check-in you could upgrade to a king suite for $35/night. King suites are about 675 sq ft and have a king bedroom and a small parlor with pullout sofa.

forgive me macraven and RyGuy for asking a dumb question, i really dont need a suite but the club level would be really cool, my 13 yr old boy would really like that ...... how would I work that out??

could i get the club level instead of a suite?? (if available) last time i have been to universal was 2004 so again sorry for the dumb questions :flower:

Thanks
Brooke

the club level has suites, deluxe and standard rooms.

if you are wondering about what are the upgrades, check out the loews first website for the details. it is listed in the fine print at the bottom of the page.

a lot of the upgrades depend on the availablity at the time you are at the hotel.

E&B's Mom,

There are two king suites on the club level. If one is available they may allow you to upgrade to it at check-in.

brooke1,

The club level requires a fee of around $100/night to upgrade. Sometimes if they are in a generous mood they will upgrade you for free but I wouldn't hold my breath unless you are LoewsFirst Platinum. It can't hurt to ask at check-in though.

I'm also a Loew's Gold member. I booked the AAA rate of $183. I hope to upgrade to a suite for $35. Do they have suites with 2 double or queen beds?

They do and they are called hospitality suites but they are not a LoewsFirst suite meaning you cannot upgrade to one with LoewsFirst. The King/Executive suite is the suite they would upgrade you to and unfortunately it only has a king bed and pullout sofa which is not very comfortable.
