Loews 1st Suite upgrade

Ok, I'm a Loews 1st gold member and I am aware that you can upgrade to a suite for $35.00 per nt based on availability upon checkin.

Since the rate for a Club Level suite is actually cheaper than a King suite, can you upgrade to a Club Level suite for that $35.00.

I'm sure I already know the answer but I just thought I'd try.

The rooms on Club are all regular rooms on RPR. Well, there are some suites, but about 12 different phone calls and emails have failed to figure out how in the heck to book one of those.

Long and short, you cannot use your Loews bennies to upgrade to club level. In fact, for our last 2 stays at RPR, we paid the regular AAA rate for Club when we could have had a suite for less since we are platinum. I got tired of doing that and opted for the suite upgrade for our next trip.

In fact, as you point out, the standard room on club level is cheaper than any suite that counts as a comped upgrade, and I wrote to Loews First pointing that out. I told them I wished they would consider offering a standard club room upgrade OR a suite upgrade with Loews benefits.

I got back this stock answer:

representative.

I think I'll follow suit and send them an e-mail as well. Even if they tell me no, I think I'll persue with the manager upon check-in. Maybe if I point out the price difference and he or she is in a good mood.....It couldn't hurt to ask.

FYI. Just to let eveyone know that the Loew's First thing actually works the way it should at other Loew's hotels. I am platinum and we've also stayed at both the one in Philadelphia and in Miami Beach I truly felt spoiled at both, especially since we were automatically upgraded to an oceanview w/balcony in Miami! (no begging, pleading, etc.) At both of those, we were also addressed like vips AND even had the vip mgr. greet us both times in Miami!
