Lodging recommendations b/w Valdosta, GA and Gainesville?

Hi folks,

Coming down I-75 to Orlando and are looking for a place to stay in between Valdosta, GA and Gainesville, FL. Looked at Lake City, FL, but everything there was either more than we'd like to pay or did not receive good ratings.

Any advice?

Honestly we'd only stay in Lake City if you are not wanting to go all the way to Gainesville or Ocala. We like Ocala because we can get up and in a short drive be to Orlando, checked in and at a park.

As you seem to be staying just one night Do Poor reviews really matter ?

Provided the door locks & the room is clean take a Chance .

Honestly I have to say that there is not a great choice between Valdosta and Gainesville. Liek a previous post mentioned Ocala is a great bet if you could make it that far. There is a Sleep Inn there in Ocala right off the interstate that is wonderful. It has a breakfast in the morning to get you going and is so convenient for an overnight. If that is too far, there is a Hampton Inn in the Lake Park area at exit 4 I believe...it is also a great one night stay and has a breakfast. In between there there is not much to look at and the rates are fairly high. If you can make it to Ocala, it is a short drive the rest of the way down in the morning.
