Several months ago, I asked about this topic and several of you provided helpful advice. It seems on our drive down to WDW from Missouri, we will be staying in the Atlanta area. I have Gold Card points and we want to stay at a Drury Inn. There are 4 in the Atlanta area, but only one south of Atlanta. It is located at the interchange of I-75 and Highway 54 in Morrow. Anybody familiar with the area? All we need is safe with some good restaurants nearby. Thanks, in advance, for your opinion.

We are coming from MO as well and I have "inner circle" points from Drury. These are for travel planners instead of travelers. From my research I'm planning on staying at the same Drury both on the way down and back. I've pm'd a member from the area and will gladly give you info when I receive it.

When are you going, maybe I'll see ya!

We're going the first two weeks of August. I know, I know...only crazy people go to WDW in August! Please do let me know what you find out. I think we may stay in Chatanooga on the way back.

We're going then too! Will actually stay in Atlanta on July 31st and then again on August 6th. I have enough points for two nights so that's where we're staying. I figure it's close to half-way and will break the trip up pretty well.

I haven't decided for sure where to stay in Orlando. I have ressies for HIFS but am seriously considering switching to Tropical Palms Funsuites.

I'm an Atlanta native, and that area isn't bad... it's near Southlake Mall which would have lots of dining options and it's right off the interstate. You would also be able to dodge morning rush hour(s) if you head south the next morning...

There is also a Drury off Delk Road off I-75 north of the city in Marietta which is a good area as well. I would avoid the airport area as it can be a little seedy depending on where you land. Have a great trip!

hi annie's mom.......it is a very small world....wow!....i am in fulton too.

we have stayed at the drury in marietta a few years ago. no probs with it. i have good luck with hotwire for hotels in atlanta and nashville for our trips to wdw. our next trip is the first week of june at pofq....flying this time with great fares from southwest out of stl.

if you are driving thru atlanta during the weekday hours it is best to use the diamond lane on i75 for the quickest way thru. actually we use it every time we go thru atlanta.

i thought i was the only disney crazy in fulton....good to see another one of us......
:D

Maximom--we'll be there the night of July 31, too! We'll look for another Missouri license plate! Littleducksmom...it is indeed a small world. Are your children in school? Which school do they go to? My dd attends Bush. I had no idea there were other Fultonians on this board! Thanks for all the input from everybody. Guess we'll plan on trying that Drury Inn!

annie's mom.....the world is getting smaller.....i have a 5th grader at bush too....and a 9th grader at fhs ........and a 3 year old. oh and 2 stepdaughters, 21 and 18. what grade is your daughter in?how often do you go to wdw?pm me if you would rather chat privately........wouldnt it be funny if we were neighbors?......lol.
