If you have hard sided cases do you all use extra staps because of having to leave your cases unlocked. Ours has combination lock and key locks at side. Do you use the special TSA straps or just the ones you can pick up quite cheaply that click shut. Thanks

You could just lock them with the TSA locks - we got some in Asda last year but you can get them on line aswell :thumbsup2

We use the extra straps on 2 of our cases that use a key lock. We lock the straps with a TSA lock. I'm glad we used the straps last time as our case was opened for a routine check and they didn't click the case shut properly when they were done and by the time it got to us at Gatwick the side 2 fastners had come open. Luckily they had put the strap back on properly so the case didn't actually come open!!

How strict are they on case measurements? we have 2 other hardsided cases with better locks on the sides which don`t need keys (just have a little switch) but these are 64" combined measurements compared to the 62" virgin quote. I would feel more secure with these with straps around as the side locks won`t fly open if the case is knocked.

We just fasten a normal luggage strap round it, then fasten with cable ties through the loops.

I have taken the large sized samsonite cases before (not sure on the exact measurement of them) and they were never measured or checked in any wa except for the weight. I would think you would be OK with them, just be careful on the weight.

We use the TSA luggage straps. I ordered them online and they arrived really quickly. I left the main combination lock on the case undone. :)

I have also taken a slightly oversized case last year and it wasn't measured only weighed. I think you would only have a problem if it was really over. :goodvibes

I will give you the link for where I purchased the straps from if you would like :thumbsup2

Thanks Elsie79 that would be great.

Think I`m going to risk the 64" cases with the sliding side locks and get the locking straps as well. I can`t see how 2" over all could make that much difference but then I suppose I could be wrong. Our small case is only about 50", so 2x64 and 1x50.
