Locking gas cap, do you have one?

We have a total of 3. Figure that if someone opens filler door and sees it they will just go to another car without one. When you figure that there is $60.00 sitting in the tank, don't want to be the recipient of a hose job.

Nope because you can't open my gas door without opening it from inside the car. Someone would probably have to use a crowbar to open it and that won't happen.

you can't open my gas cap without opening my car, and then propping the latch up in place, so I am not worried.

No, because $60 isn't worth the aggravation of locking & unlocking it everytime I need gas.

What's next, they'll bring back the AMC Pacer???

I was actually thinking about getting one of these today...where can you get one??????

:rotfl2: I used to drive one of those :rotfl2: I think $5 filled it up:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I had an incident with my vehicle last week, and I am seriously looking at a hybrid.

LOLOL! I once had a cast on my leg, so a coworker drove me to work and home during that time. She had a Pacer. I felt like the car was ALL windows...it was!

I was thinking about the locking gas caps of the 70s a couple days ago. Mine is like most here...have to flip the thingie inside the car to open the gas door.

Michie...One of the bosses at work has a hybrid and LOVES it!!

DH's Jeep has one, which I hate. It's a pain to use.

My car has a door that can't be opened without pressing the gas tank button inside the car, I figure that should be enough.

Pick one up at an auto parts store or car dealership.

Correction, I wrote $60.00 worth of gas, today it is now $70.00 and probably some time soon that same tank will hold a "C" note worth.

About .75 seconds to open one of those locking fill lids with a little tool called a Wonder Bar.

We have to work too many hours to fill the tank so a total of 5 seconds more when gassing up to us is worth the hassle.

I don't have to worry about that because whoever wants to take my gas , won't be taking more than $10 these days. My van is always on a quarter of a tank or less since all my driving is local.
BTW , I used to have one of those locking caps years ago and it was a PITA to try to open that in the winter's freezing cold....

I am actually going to get one today...already this week I have had 2 co workers have gas siphoned out of their cars while they were home at night!

My car is in the garage at home. At work it is on monitored private property. I don't go to the store except once a week. I think I will take my chances for now. I figure they'll go for the bigger tanks first;)

Funny, I almost posted to ask if anyone was resorting to that. My mom was out yesterday looking for one. The last time this happened her gas was siphoned twice. So, she is not wanting to take chances this time. I had thought about it, but don't know if I will bother yet or not. We have three vehicles, one of which has the open latch in the car. None of the tanks are full, but they could still get a few gallons I guess.
