We are going to try to pack some meals and take them into the parks this trip. We usually bring just snacks and water and carry around a heavy backpack and have never used the lockers, but I think carrying more snacks and drinks would do us in. We are already loaded down with cameras and sunscreen and phones... ( well, that's another post!)
Anyway, they don't seem to be very conveniently placed-unless I'm missing something...are they just at the park entrance? There are no places to eat nearby, correct? And I'm wondering about availability and cost. Do people feel they are worth it? Would it be likely in April that we could pack our cooler only to get to a park to find out there aren't any lockers left? Would they hold a medium-sized cooler, or only a small?
Thanks for help-obviously we have plowed right by them in the past and I am clueless!

. . . yep

There are no places to eat nearby, correct?
. . . nope

. . . yes, if you do not want to tote things around the park

. . . if you are there early, you should be fine
. . . the later you go, the fewer large lockers remaining.

Would they hold a medium-sized cooler, or only a small?
. . . sizes are below
. . . measure your cooler

We did one super-budget trip where we packed almost all of our own food. I know this is a little strange, but before the trip we bought an umbrella stroller off craigslist for $7. At the parks, we put our stuff in the stroller and parked it in a conveniently located stroller parking area. Easy access all day, no fee. I realized there was a possibility someone could have taken our stuff, but it was unlikely. When we got back home we sold the same stroller for $10. Worked for us!

This is a great idea! And you made $3.00 in the end. Love this!

I LOVE this idea! Even if I spent $20 it would be cheaper than a locker rental. Something to think about- we already bring enough in our backpack to make it super heavy. 3-6 waters, granola bars, sunscreen, camera, phone, change of clothes for ds, ponchos...

Glad you guys don't think I was completely off my rocker! Lol! As a tip, pack a big plastic garbage bag and a couple clothes pins and cover the stroller if there is a chance of rain while you're on a ride. Who wants to eat a soggy lunch, right?

This is genius!

Yes- my favorite Dis tip ever. And....well... so simple....I bought a stroller for my five year old to use for our first trip, then resold it. But it NEVER occurred to me to buy one for my stuff!
