We may or may not have a car on our next trip, so it's important to be "near the lobby". I'm wondering though if there are dedicated 2 bdrms on all floors, near the lobby. I would prefer to stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor, but wanted to find out if there are dedicated 2 bdrms in that area.

I was unsuccessful in finding a map with that info. I would appreciate your help so I will have everything in order when I call MS in a few days to book.

Thanks!

We had a dedicated 2BR on the 4th floor about 3 miles from the lobby. It was the longest walk ever! I requested 3rd floor near the lobby and they initally put us on the 3rd floor in a room I would not consider near the lobby, but it was a little closer than the room we ended up in. Unfortunately it was a handicap accessible room so there was not seating for all 6 of us to eat since there's no island in the kitchen. Not a great thing to have to deal with when you finally get to the resort at 1am. It took them over an hour to find us a new room.

Moral of the story-your 1st request is given the top priority, so request "near lobby" 1st, then what floor you want. We were assigned the accessible room because my 1st request was "3rd floor" and that was the only room available on the 3rd floor. By the time we checked in and discovered the problem, all the other rooms "near the lobby" were assigned.

Dedicated 2BRs are evenly distrbuted throughout the building and exist near the lobby. We have had such the last three times we were there and only request for our 2BR dedicated we made was close to the lobby.

I'll plan on saying "close (or near) the lobby" as my 1st request. However, I'd like to find out how many dedicated 2 bdrms there are in that area, because I would also like to be on a lower floor to be below the tree line. I'm pretty sure I read that the higher floors have blocked views due to the trees. Is that correct?

Thanks for your responses. It helps me to know what others have experienced.

I have not done counts but they are on all floors; ours have been on the 2d, 3d and 5th (we do not do a floor request). Also, if you are close to lobby, you will not have any tree blocking your view.

We had a dedicated 2 bedroom on the second floor at the end of the 4th bead. It was a great location since it was the same floor as the lobby and close to buses and parking. I did request "close to lobby".

What is meant by "the end of the 4th bead"? Are there a certain number of rooms per bead? How many beads are on a floor? I really have no idea what that means.

Thanks for helping me figure this all out.

Basically a 'bead' at Kidani is a section of rooms, if you look at this Resort Map you'll see 'beads' of rooms http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/Kindani_Village_Map.jpg & Inbetween the beads are corridors & certain sections of the corridors look onto the Savanna. Each bead also contains 5 floors, with the 1st floor being car parking.
:tink:

Ideally, 2nd floor is what I'd like to get.....and be close to the lobby. From the map, the "end of the 4th bead" looks to be quite a distance from the lobby. (Much closer though than the end of that last bead!) It looks like there are sidewalks coming out from the sections between the beads. Were you able to exit there to be closer to the bus stop, instead of going thru the lobby?

We have been to Kidani before, but only to eat at Sanaa, and then we walked out to look at the pool area. So those areas, including the bus stop, we're familiar with. I appreciate everyone's info to help me understand what the villa sections of Kidani are like.

Also if you are concerned about the buses to the parks as a reason you want to be near the lobby. the park buses are actually on the pathway between the 1st and 2nd bead on the side closer to Jambo. ((lol make sense lol))
