Locations for Dessert Party/ Rehearsal

Hello everyone! DF and I are hoping to do a combination appetizer/ dessert party for our "rehearsal dinner" the night before the wedding. However, we are not sure where to have it. We were thinking Fantasmic or upper or lower UK, but we wanted to know if there are any non-park locations to do this (b/c I heard non-park locations can be cheaper). I think someone had a similar party outside at the GF, but I couldn't find the thread. I would also like to know if there is a location around the Boardwalk area for this type of event. I havent heared of one around the boardwalk, mostly because you wouldnt see the fireworks particularly well. I know someone has had a party on the beach in front of the yacht club so that is a possibility!

You can have a dessert party at the marina of the GF! but you do have to pay extra to have the music piped in if you want that! I think it was MelMel that had that party!

Are fireworks a priority? Then really Illuminations or the GF marina (I have heard conflicting things on the GF...you should check with the gf catering to make sure this can happen for you)are the best options. If not there are quite a few places you may use like the summerhouse @ GF or shipwreck beach at the Yacht/Beach club.

If you want to see wishes then your options at the GF are the marina or the whitehall patio. And it would cost $800 to have the music piped in...at least that's what my SM told me. So it ends up being more cost effective to do illuminations in my opinion. HTH.

Fireworks are not a priority for me. Besides price, one of the reasons I do not want Illuminations is b/c it would be over so late (there are a lot of kids and elderly in my party and I know this would be difficult for them). I still really like the idea of a dessert party though, so I wanted to know if there were other options.

Pixie08- I did not know you could have parties on Shipwreck beach. Is there room at this location for tables & chairs?

Yes i believe they can do a whole set up at shipwreck beach. I do not know too much about it because my they just mentioned it to us and since it is not handicap accessible it was not an option for us since my bro is in a wheelchair, but is seems like an awesome location for a party. I would call dftw and find out more about it. I dodn't believe there is a venue fee or anything like that.

I've heard of dessert parties at the Attic on the boardwalk (this is a private room over jelly rolls), from the balcony you have a clear view of fireworks at Epcot...Although when we priced our rehearsal dinner there it came out to be more then our Italy Isola dessert party...

there was a lady a while back on here who had here prereception at the seabreeze pointe gazebo at the boardwalk. that could be an outside option on the water for your rehearsal & dp.

we had a welcome dinner for us & our 50 guests at at dtd's rainforest cafe at the private amazon terrace in all it was about $2000 & there was so much good food.

also a detail to keep in mind when having a resort rd or dp is your guests transportation there.

Just a heads up about Fantasmic parties - my SM said they try to discourage booking hose due to the unpredictability of weather. She said unlike Illuminations, with Fantasmic there aren't always great "raindate" location options- it is literally whatever indoor area can accomodate the group.
