2 locally made soaps
very cute scarecrow that is already sitting on my table

marble frog - too cute!!
postcards and a book about the Biltmore Estate - what a beautiful place!
Nightlight that Amanda made - very nice!!!

Thanks so much Amanda. Have a great day!!

I am so glad you got it all and liked it. I am telling you that was just so hard finding fitting things...lol When I went by this ladies littkle craft shop here I found those soaps and I just thought they smelled so very good. She had the wrapped so pretty I could not resist. I got myself one of those scarecrows too and put it on my bar. Thought they were the coolest. Yes, Biltmoer is a BEAUIFUL house! One of my fave places to visit. The gardens and all are just so wonderful and the inside of the house is amazing to walk through. Again, so glad everything arrived. I was getting worried..lol Sorry I was late getting it out to you though. ;)

Hugs, hugs, and MORE hugs to Susie![escape] :goodvibes Susie is from Arkansas and was in WDW during the mail by date, so she kindly PMed me and told me my package would be late, but worth the wait - and was it ever! :banana:Susie, you went above and beyond the call of duty. She not only sent me an overabundance of goodies, but the Arkansas history behind each , which I would like to share a bit of with all my DIS friends.

Susie sent TWO packages of delicious cookies for starters. Here's a bit about them......" Brent & Sam's Gourmet Cookies has grown rapidly in the past decade. The company now occupies its own building and employs a staff of over 40. The year 2005 marks our 20th year of business. Throughout all this growth and change, one thing remains the same: every single batch of cookies is made from scratch in Little Rock, Arkansas."

Then she sent an awesome kitchen tool called a Zester Grater - "The big moment came in 1994, when Lorraine Lee, a homemaker in Ottawa, Canada, was making an Armenian orange cake. Out of frustration with her old grater, she picked up a new tool her husband, Leonard, had brought home from their hardware store, Lee Valley Tools. She slid the orange across its blades and was amazed. Lacy shards of zest fell from its surface like snowflakes. The Lees marveled at the tool, ate the cake, then promptly changed the product description in their catalogue. The Microplane® grater had earned permanent space in the kitchen. "{These are manufactured in Susie's hometown!}

As if that wasn't enough, a prettily wrapped bag with a yummy smelling candle and potpourri told me this -

AROMATIQUE... Creator of Decorative Fragrance

Aromatique, the Creator of Decorative Fragrance, was created twenty-two years ago by Patti Upton. Patti gave birth to this dynamic company literally "just for fun." She mixed together a mélange of native botanicals such as acorns, pine cones, gumballs and hickory nuts, fragranced them with spices, oils and ingenuity. Patti called her creation The Smell of Christmas and placed it in a friend's gift shop. Visitors were enthralled. This extraordinary decorative fragrance quickly turned into an overnight success, and customers were consistently asking for more. Often copied but never duplicated, The Smell of Christmas remains the company's flagship fragrance. As a leader in the fragrance industry noted, "It is great to create a wonderful fragrance, but to keep that fragrance at the top for twenty years is amazing."

And there's more! A pen from the University she teaches at, craft items from local crafters that are donating proceeds to Victims of the Hurricanes, [a wooden heart shaped flag, homemade jam, bath salts and soap], a seasoning mix made in Arkansas, a book on Arkansas ....AND ...a Walmart gift card because Walmart's corporate offices are in Arkansas.

CAN YOU SAY "HAPPILY OVERWHELMED"?! Thanks again Susie - OH! I almost forget - AND a souvenir from her trip to WDW - a Mickey Mouse potpourri container. Sigh! I DO love to be spoiled.........[ but what did I do to deserve it? ]

Michelle,

I'm so glad you liked the products. I was so hoping to find more food items to share but most of the food items I found were fresh and could not be shipped. I also hope you enjoy the zester/grater. I use mine a lot more than I thought I would. Good for grating cheese and chocolate as well.

Enjoy!

Susie

This exchange is now COMPLETED.
Thank you to everyone that had participated.
No elves were needed  .
Remember that there is the Keep Me Warm Exchange taking sign ups now if you would like to join in on that. :goodvibes

Well.....In addition to the Build-A-Bear, I just received an additional package from Miste76!!

It contains a note telling me that she attends Southern Illinios University School of Dental Medicine and a school building sketch is on the note card! This particular building is the oldest continuously operating school building in the state of Illinois!!

She also enclosed post cards of places around Alton! One is Clark Bridge, one is Lincoln-Douglas Square, one card of the prime eagle watching spot between Alton & Grafton (which encompasses up to 450 roosting bald eagles in the winter), and one is a monument to the memory of Rev. Elijah Parish Lovejoy (a martyr to freedom of speech and equality)!

Mistie also included:

An Oral-B toothbrush (which DH insisted he needed and took off with)
A red St. Louis Cardinals toothbrush (both in soft, of course)
A red St. Louis Cardinals bracelet
A light up Disney Woody pen
A colorful St. Louis pen
A cute Disney Belle Princess keychain
A size 37 1/2 AA footprint souvenir with important dates and facts in the life of Robert P. Wadlow from the Alton Area Historical Society (it's so big, she had to fold it to get it in the box). Mr. Wadlow grew to be 8' 11" tall.
An Illinois lapel pin with more information about Mr. Wadlow attached
And 3 - 8 x 10 prints done in ink of: Loomis Hall of Shurtleff College, the Confederate Monument honoring Confederate prisoners who died of smallpox, and Mr. Robert Wadlow's statue!

Thank you so much, Mistie!! I spent some of my childhood in the Kankakee area in the 1960's and I have fond memories of Illinois!! I love these local goodies you have sent ~ you have been very generous!! :wave2:

Susan and Amanda... I'm glad that you both enjoyed your packages!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
