I am amazed at the change in our weather. Just Saturday and Sunday it was snowing in the sierras, and nasty rain in the bay area. Today we have a comfortable 72 degrees. What a nice change.

Ski season officially opens this weekend and they have already had about 20 cm of real snowfalls. Aussies will ski on 20 - 30 cm bases!

Today in Sonoma County, like yesterday was too warm for my liking. And to top it off, yesterday, as I was minding my own business (Yes, I know, hard to believe )
my right front tire had a most wonderful blow out. It felt as though my car was about to blow up. Thank God for AAA and Americas Tires....

Ok, so probably silly question. But do your schools have their vacations now or when it is warm or are you on an all year round schedule? When do most people travel? During our winter?

Not a bad day. Mid fifities and mostly sunny. Things are looking better over the weekend. Summer might come.

Warmed up to almost the 70s. Stong breeze through most of the day. While it looked like a T Storm would roll in those dark clouds blew through leaving a nice evening in their wake.

Woke up to a pea-souper morning. Completely foggy and low visibility. Coupled with the ash plume from Chile heading our way, the airlines cancelled quite a number of flights this morning.

Sun came out sometime mid morning or early afternoon. Not entirely sure as I was sick in bed (and asleep).

Seems like a nice afternoon...blue sky and sunny aspect...from my bedroom window.

We're in the mid 50's here. Possible shower tomorrow.

Our schools go back in early Feb. They have 13 weeks of vacation made up of:

• 2 weeks around April (Easter);
• 2 weeks in June/July (winter);
• 2 weeks in Sept/Oct (spring);
• 7 weeks over late Dec/Jan (summer break)

Most Australians have 4 weeks annual leave. Most people without kids travel when they get a good deal with the flights; which is pretty much non-holiday period. Families will travel at anytime...again it depends on flights.

I live in Melbourne, which is in the southern most half of Australia....cold in winter. Most people in my state will try for a mid-winter break to the state of Queensland (where the Great Barrier Reef is up north) for the warmth. Far North Queensland is pretty warm in winter...even warmer than Florida in their winter time.

Rained most of the morning, cold rain. Stopped for a while then rained a quick but strong shower in the early afternoon. Warmed about to 50 and cleared up for a cool but nice evening.

currently 93 degrees and clear sky with a slight breeze. Time to turn on the AC.

From a low last night of sub 40 to a high today of low 60's. Cloudy and overcast. AC is the furthest thing from my mind right now.
