~~~ Local Weather Updates Please ~~~
It is 95 and it feels much hotter. And to think I wondered where the summer was. Now I know.
That is funny Pink B. And agreed, that it is best to just retire the sofa. That way it can go to sofa heaven, and be surrounded by it's compadres. I have seen a number of couch's, tables, bookcases, old computer monitors, used potty chairs etc of on the side of roads, or on sidewalks. Maybe it is an epidemic of some kind? I believe that sometimes it is due to the economy. One must be careful if they decide to pick up one of the couches, because anything from mice to roaches can be residing there. Just waiting for a new home..... yours! :faint: Also sometimes cats and or dogs or ? Will have gone potty etc on it. So it will be stinkified very nicely. And when it is in it's new home, one will really detect the smells then. Unfortunately, so will your pets. For they will take it as some kind of invitation. And the next thing you know, it is their new potty place. :faint:
No wild sofas- or mice or cats for that matter- coming in to my house.
Nice weather for the 4th. :) It was hot, but not too hot. Maybe 89 or so.
Kaoden 39.....Thats funny. I cannot wait until the hot weather takes a powder. I cannot take it very well. And my poor pets do not like it either. After all they are cats, not lizards. ;)
:lmao: Exactly! :scared1: :rotfl:
For me, when the temperature is in the high 80's that is too hot for me. :faint: :scared1: :eek: :headache: :hippie:
Very Nice day. Reached the low 80's. A few clouds but no nearby signs of T-Storms.
But I like thunder storms..... If I ever visit, you will have to promise to supply plenty of them and lightning too... For that is a very exciting combination of elements.
I will see what I can do. I also enjoy the storms and if not out walking or biking or something surely welcome them for the site and sounds and the rainfall.
My plan worked perfectly so as to put a good scare into Indy. And the beauty of my joke, is that he has no idea that I did it. I am glad too. Because the last time that I had pulled a stunt like that, he threatened a voodoo curse upon my personage. I had been scared for a few days or so, then I thought to myself dunder head, a voodoo curse cannot work on you, unless you allow it too. Fortunately, I never had to find out, either way, for Indy did not follow through upon what would become an idle threat.
I have since learned more about his latest archaeological dig. And that it has to do with a different kind of curse.... that of the all powerful and at times vengeful Mara..... since then, I have been assisting Indy with researching the subject. And she is, I must say a most intriguing, exciting and fascinating figure! She is a goddess. One that, if the tales are true, can either grant you one of three wonderful gifts, or send you to your death. This dig I believe will prove to be Indy's greatest, but hopefully not final challenge. To not only find Mara, but to survive her as well. She is reported to "live" in what many years ago had been named by the indigenous people of India, the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
For the past fortnight, we, being Indy and myself, plus several natives have been working on setting up our camp. While the rest of Indy's workers are busily hacking away at the dense foliage that has almost entirely engulfed Mara's temple. As soon as we can make enough space so as to enter the temple, we will do just that. Unfortunately, several of Indy's workers have quit, stating that they fear too greatly the possible wrath of Mara. No matter how hard he attempts to convince them otherwise, they do not listen. They are just so fearful. See, Indy did not tell them at first anything in particular about this dig. That is how he wanted it to be. But as soon as those that knew better took a look at the temple they left. And the rest almost followed. Fortunately Indy and I were able to convince, well bribe actually, the rest of the workers, so they decided for the time being anyway, to stay and to continue to assist us...............
Today in the jungle as usual it is hot and humid..... with zero change since yesterday.
Off in my native land of California, in the northern part, according to a message received from a close contact, the weather is calm and cool. With an expected temperature in the mid 80's. With a cooling trend fore casted for the weekend.
Right as our camp was finally as we need it to be, a roving band of wild, crazy monkeys, with the longest tails that one could ever imagine, ripped through our entire camp. Pots and pans strewn about, our jeeps pooped in, on and under, our provisions plundered and picked by every hungry pig of a monkey and their uncles too. Half eaten bits of fruit were tossed about in wild abandon, littering the ground as if it were confetti. Even one monkey wore a banana peel on his head, as if it were some kind of hat. It was funny actually, messy and disgusting, but funny. Then before we could keep the wild bunch out of our explosives, they began playing with that too. Fortunately there were no explosions. Another furry monster got a hold of one of the guns, then started shooting it off. Now that was just plain scary, or should I say hairy and scary. Thank goodness that darn monkey was a really bad shot. Otherwise there is no telling what could have happened ...... Trader Sam had warned us about these terrible creatures, but we did not figure that they would actually be all that bad...... well they were and are!
Why even one cheeky little monkey snatched the binoculars right out of Indy's hands.
Boy was Indy furious at these hairy beasts! He was yelling at them, calling them names, some of which were in the Hindi language, after all they are Indian monkeys, not American.
Well finally the small beasts left, but that was only because our workers began shooting in the air. And over their devil of a creatures heads! Thank goodness that scared them off. However, we know that they might return, in which case, we will be better prepared for these hair balls with long tails.
In all of the mêlée, I managed to take some pictures of the savage monkeys. I have to see how they turn out, then I can share them
Partly cloudy, a light breeze and upper 70's. Had two midday rain shower that lasted a minute, and dried up in a couple minutes.
Looked like it could have rained a lot but never did. With some bigger darker clouds it never got over 75.
It's definitely NOT summer in Melbourne.
Currently about 52 F. Grey and mizzly. Clearing showers. Same again tomorrow.
It was little warm, upper 70's and clouded up around noon. Some places were really dark clouds and while the threat of rain always seemed present, the wind picked up a few time, but not a drop.
I have been informed that back in my native land of California, that the weather was tolerable. And that the temperature was in the mid 70's, with a light cool breeze. With a cooling trend continuing.
शुक्रिया everyone for your weather updates. The first word is thank you in Hindi and phonetically is Śukriyā. The better that I can learn the native tongue of India, that would be great, so as to communicate more efficiently with the natives.
Indy and I continue on with our research of Mara,while Indy's workers have almost forged some semblance of a path for us all to follow through and into the ancient temple.
From our research, and also from what his friend Sallah has told us, we should expect danger and possible death at almost every turn of the inner workings of Mara's Temple. I wonder if what I imagine is actually worse from what may lay before us.
Sallah has been delayed in joining us in our work, due to a delicate condition. And all I will say to that is, yes.. it does involve wine, women, and song. And a Turkish prison. But never mind about that right now. For there is more fascinating information to impart about the legendary, if not infamous Mara.
It is said that if one dares, no matter how pure at heart, and good in deeds, dares to even so much as glance into Mara's eyes, it will result in death. Oh one might momentarily feel as though they are still alive, but that is only a reflex, like when a chicken has it's head cut off, it's eyes can still see, and mouth still speak. But alas, you will be transported in soul to the gates of doom. And your body will turn into an inferno, hence instant cremation. Now if one can avoid her eyes, for she is rather like the Indian version of Medusa, then you just might be fortunate enough so as to have one of three gifts granted to you. What Mara offers is either wonderfully delightful riches, eternal youth or lastly the ability to for see the future, and all that it holds. There are no guarantees with Mara, for even if one can find her, it does not mean that she will grant a thing. Matter of fact,consider yourself most fortunate if you survive the journey into her temple. For she does not take kindly to strangers, unless she has been expecting you. And you have her approval..... now I must finish tidying up the destruction from our demon monkeys visit. More like a wild party. Only no humans had any fun, only the terrible monkeys.
Yeserday was fantastic. 75 with a few clouds floating around.
Today was fantastic. 75 with a few clouds floating around.
आप अपना मौसम अद्यतन के लिए धन्यवाद If my translation is correct, this is Hindi for thank you for your weather update.
I have been informed that the weather today in Northern Ca. was remarkably nice and cool what for being a day in July no less.
July 16,
I am but a mere and humble at that student of the Indian Language. Where Indy, knows it far better from myself. However, he does not know the entire language as of yet. Sallah is one of his teachers actually. And they are both mine. Indy and I are continuing to study the language, hoping that the better we know it, the greater our chances to survive will be.
Update:
Sallah has recently been released by his Turkish captors. He lost a few pounds during his unfortunate confinement, but then he could stand to lose a few anyway. So this is good.
He will be joining us as soon as he can make proper transport arrangements. Frankly, I personally find him to be a bit trying on my nerves at times, but Indy and he are very good friends, so what can I do?
Currently in the Lost Delta where I had previously mis reported purely by accident mind you, the weather in this and in other parts of India as well. For it is still the monsoon season. Matter of fact, it has significantly strengthened in the North East area of India (This is where we are) As well as the Central parts of the country and in Burma too. And it is associated with a depression in the northwest angle of the Bay. Which is fore casted to cross the Orissa-Bengal Coast by the 5 th of August.
The Lost Delta Region is an area where many have gone before us, but never to be heard from again. With the exception of one adventurer/explorer a one Sir Henry Penrod Higgins from Wales. That was about 10 years ago now. He had been found wandering about the jungle, seeming to be in a hallucinatory state of mind. He was speaking gibberish then, and to this day as well. No one, no drug, nothing can seem to bring him back to his full senses. There are times though yes, when he appears to be in a very lucid frame of mind. Be it but for a few mere moments, or a bit longer, either way if one is fortunate enough to be present at the time. And it was during several times such as those, that Indy was able to learn more about Mara and her Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Sir Higgins condition is very sad indeed, especially for a man who just recently turned but 43. If you like, one may visit him in Bethlem in Beckenham, M-Sun noon to 1600 hours. He would really love a visit. All of the patients I would imagine, might appreciate visitors.
