The Lost Delta Region is an area where many have gone before us, but never to be heard from again. With the exception of one adventurer/explorer a one Sir Henry Penrod Higgins from Wales. That was about 10 years ago now. He had been found wandering about the jungle, seeming to be in a hallucinatory state of mind. He was speaking gibberish then, and to this day as well. No one, no drug, nothing can seem to bring him back to his full senses. There are times though yes, when he appears to be in a very lucid frame of mind. Be it but for a few mere moments, or a bit longer, either way if one is fortunate enough to be present at the time. And it was during several times such as those, that Indy was able to learn more about Mara and her Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Sir Higgins condition is very sad indeed, especially for a man who just recently turned but 43. If you like, one may visit him in Bethlem in Beckenham, M-Sun noon to 1600 hours. He would really love a visit. All of the patients I would imagine, might appreciate visitors.

Gisele - I love your stories :lovestruc....but your names sometimes leave a little to be desired!! Penrod???? :confused3 But for a flip of two letters, you'd have it perfect!

Try Pernod! And then I'd totally understand why he's wandering through the jungle for 10 years speaking gibberish...to this day....no drug brings him back to full senses....and there are times when he seems lucid!

Anyone for Pastis? :rolleyes1

:rotfl:

Yesterday was nice again. Got upto 84 and mostly sunny.

I have no idea what the weather has been like around here because I've been at Disneyland!

The weather down there was very nice, warm but not really hot. One day it drizzled so hard it was almost rain. I wore my sweater all morning.

Each evening is like attending a symphony. Because Indy does love his classical music. Some of his most favorite pieces being from Camille Saint-Saens,particularly The Carnival of the Animals. He can listen to that compositon all night. Myself as well. For another element that we have in common is our passion not only for classical music, but for Saint-Saens Carnival especially so. The Aquarium Selection, Dance Macabre, and The Dying Swan being our most favorite sections. Matter of fact, Indy was most fortunate for having had the great honor and priveldge to attend the first United States performance of the Dying Swan with his father. Which was performed by the great, beautiful and famous ballerina Anna Pavlova, this being her signature role. She performed at The Metropolitan Opera House in NYC in 1910. March 18th to be exact about the date. I know this, because he told me so. He was about 11 years old at the time. And after the performance, followed for a few select guests a reception with Anna Pavlova. Which he and his father were so very fortunate to have been on the guest list. Indy sat across from her. And although at the time was a bit on the shy side, believe it or, he summoned up enough courage to ask her for her autograph. Which she most graciously gave to him, along with a faint kiss on his right cheek, which just about made him faint. She autographed a photograph of her. Indy has that photograph of her, out here in the Lost Delta packed away with several other itmes that hold great sentimental value to him. I will see if I can share that here in my journal. Which speaking of,I am trying to make entries every day, but it isn't always easy to take a break, when there is so much research still to do. Not to mention raucous monkeys that have been spying on us ever since their infamous raid on our camp. We have several look outs too, in the form of a number of our best shots from the crew. They can only fire over their monkey mayhem heads though, because regardless of the scandalous little creatures, they are still considered to be sacred by the indigenous people of India, therefore, no killing is allowed. Oh and one more thing about our music, our Indian crews seem to like it too, even though it is very different from their own. And am happy to report that so far there have been no protests to our listening to this music every night. Besides, once we really start to make our way into the temple, it is highly unlikely that the phonograph will be coming with us. I am hoping that it will. Who knows? Maybe Mara will like the music. And if not, perhaps she will turn us all into toads or something worse?

Today was nice and pleasant though a little hot at 86F. I know it's much less than on the river Delta downstream from Butan.

But a bit after 5pm the wind picked up, way up blew all the petals of my poppies. One boom of thunder and thirty minutes of strong wind. Though some trees might blow over with this one. Then the wind calmed a bit and it rained a little, not enough. The dark clouds move away to let in just a little of the last bits of sunlight. Made one of the biggest rainbows I've ever seen. Must of stood 1,500 feet in the sky.

But then the sun went behind the mountains and the rainbow dissapeared as quickly as it appeared.

Still needed to water that garden, stupid storm, I want water not wind.

Poppies are pretty. Golden poppies are the official flower of the State of California.

Tea and crumpets anyone?

Sometimes late at night, when all is quiet, including Camille, with the exception of the nightly music that the jungle creates. And the same orchestration is never repeated.
I swear that on the wind, with it carries not only messages from Mara, but from those that have passed on through to the other side. No matter how hard I try to listen, I cannot make out what their messages might be. Maybe they are warnings? Or words of wisdom or of doom? Perhaps a combination? I have not mentioned this to Indy, because I don't want him to think that I am experiencing jungle fever or something. Which I am not, I think........

So far so good, no more mayhem monkey attacks upon our camp! We are all so relieved. Now that is not to say that the wild bunch are still not spying upon us, because they are, but their numbers have considerably decreased. I am hoping that the rest of them will go away too. Oh my god! I spoke too soon! A very nasty little monkey just ran across my presence, while tossing a banana right into my facial. Unbelievable, really it is. Now, I can hear Indy swearing again at these little beasts, only I don't know half of what he is saying because he has a degree in linguistics, not me. Fortunately, these few renegade monkeys ran back off into the jungle, where the little blighter's belong. I hope that they stay there. I swear, if they harm the phonograph, I will have to take drastic measures against them, sacred or not.

Hope the monkeys and the phonograph are fine.

It's 47 F over here....cool, cool and cold....as we are heading to an overnight low of sub 40. The daytime temperature hits 57 F, crisp foggy mornings and sunny (but cool) afternoons.

Better here than in the middle of a heat wave.

Gracias for your weather update. I personally love cool weather, so I would definitely be comfy in the land down under. Back in Ca. I have been informed that (In the Northern part) the weather was slightly warm, with temperatures reaching in the upper 70's. And with it came a nice cool breeze.

Super Sunny, clouds would of been nice when it got almost to the high 80's.

High 80's is too high for my comfort zone, compadre! Don't forget to sunscreen.

Rain, rain, and more rain here in Edmonton, AB, Canada! It's been raining here since the snow melted! Luckily I got to experience sunny California a couple of weeks ago - sure do miss the sun!!:(

Windy mid day, sunny all day, but kept to the low 80s.

FINALLY!!! A beautiful summer day here! A little windy but super sunny and a cloudless sky! I checked the temp. F for my American friends too! 21 C 69/70F. Absolutely perfect!!

Mostly sunny and got upto 77. Spent some time outside having fun in the sun.
