August 5th 1935,
Much rain today, as usual, as the monsoon season continues to strengthen. Especially in the North East of India, as well as in the Central parts and in Burma too. This being due to a much anticipated association with a depression in the North West angle of the bay, that was set to cross the Orissa Bengal Coast by today, which delivered. And with much power at that. Which continues to be active in the East and in North Punjab. And also in the West United Provinces, especially in the hill districts. It was also active in the East, and with the exception of brief periods of calm, in the North East of India (Outside of Orissa)
So far the Peninsula this week has seen a generally weakened monsoon.
The cold air continues to fall down the Himalayan Mountains, hitting the warm air in the Indian Ocean. At the juncture, the cold air precipates out and forms rain, otherwise known as monsoon season. This yearly weather pattern, which occurs during the Northern Winter, reaches as far afield as the Southern Continent of Australia. This island continent, the last continent to be discovered by Western civilisation, experiences monsoon weather during the November - January months in the Northern Territory.
There....the intrepid adventurer, Indy, has yet to come across the Aboriginal Dreamtime and the Rainbow Serpent.
Further south of the continent, the cloud cover and mizzle conditions continue to blanket much of Melbourne. We are expecting scattered showers, local hail and possible thunderstorms tomorrow.
