We ate at our local (not Orlando) Rainforest Cafe today and I thought it would be OK to do a Dis review since RFC is a chain and the food is the same as you'd get in Orlando.
My dh was at work, so it was just me and the kids at lunch. We are members of the Safari Club, so we got a free appetizer. In the past, there was no choice as to what the free appetizer would be, but today we did have a choice of appetizers. Maybe they changed the policy? It's been a while since we've eaten there, so it's possible the policy changed and I didn't know it. Safari Club members get either a free appetizer, a discount off of the big appetizer, OR 10% off the bill, whichever option they pick when they order.
Anyway, we had the RFC Quesadilla, which was tasty! They were a little messy because the filling kind of slid out when we cut them open, but they were good, and I would order this again.
I had the Buffalo Chicken Salad. It was OK, but WAY too big! I wish they would offer half-portions on entree salads. I ended up giving ds some of my chicken and still didn't finish the whole salad. One thing I liked about the salad was that the lettuce was chopped small enough that I didn't have to do any major cutting except for cutting my chicken, which was good. I also liked it that the salad did not spill off of the plate when I cut and ate the salad. I almost always order a salad in restaurants and one of my pet peeves is when the salad is overflowing off of the plate, making it impossible to cut and eat it without having spillage.
Ds had the kid's pizza and dd had the kid's chicken nuggets and fries. Both kids liked their meals.
After all of that food, we were too full for dessert.
