Local opinions: best first timer resource?

Hello all! Need your opinions on the best quick resource (i.e. blog post that is not too overwhelming) for first time Disney friends.

I know what I want to tell them, and I likely will be their tour guide if I can take the day off to make their day magic, but I am hoping for a short article I can send them in advance that gives them a *snapshot* on what to expect without giving them too much FOMO - e.g. there are 6 lands, here are the themes, blah blah blah. I used to have a good quick resource that had like top 7 tips for first time visits and now can't find it anywhere. So I come to you...

INFO: Mom/Dad in early 40's, 6 year old daughter very into pirates and mermaids. Never been to Disney anything. 1 day ticket to Disneyland (no PH)

Not getting G+ unless I am with them, so no need for those articles. Mainly need a "here is what to expect" type of thing.

Yeah, I really enjoy DFB and DTB. Unfortunately they are FIRST FIRST timers, so I am trying to give them as little information as possible so as to not overwhelm, but still inform. Both of those would send them reeling with too much information. They literally are waking in BLIND!

It looks like that Disneyland Daily site has some great tips for making decisions after your friends have gotten an overview of the resort on AllEars or whatever other site might provide that basic info.
