Local Currency ?

Sorry if this question is elementary, but.... On the 7-day Western with stops at Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, is local currency necessary? ...or do you suggest just using CCs? TIA

Yes, as PP stated, good old US $$$. No need to convert for local currency.

Watch your CC is it has foreign transaction fees. One of mine does, so if needed, I use the other one while out of the country

They only will charge 2 to 3%. Not worth pulling out my Alaska Airline credit card that I rarely use. The Fidelity Visa gives 2% cash back so it is pretty much just a wash anyway.

If you use American money, take small bills. They will give you change in THEIR currency and you don’t want to get stuck with a large amount. We enjoy bringing foreign coins home.
