I recently tried the Lobster roll at Columbia Harbor House and was amazed at the taste and quantity, especially for quick service. Good hush puppies, too.

Does anyone know if that's real lobster? I mean, for I think 15.99 one would assume it's real, but I don't eat lobster that frequently so I can't tell if it's real or not.

It's still really good, though.

I loved that roll too I was very impressed with the quality of the seafood as well. It is lobster, but there are many different types some more expensive than others.Where they were caught would also have a huge impact on price.

I always wanted to try it but was afraid it would be too “mayonnaise”. Glad to see good reviews!

Yes, it is real lobster meat. Usually the claw and knuckle meats.

I hate mayo but loved the lobster roll. A great quantity of meat and the sweetness of the bun helped balance out the mayonnaise taste. One of the few food items at Disney World that I would pay pretty much the same price for in the "real world".

I haven't had it in a few years. The first and only time I ordered it, I was disappointed as I thought it would be warm similar to the ones in the American pavilion at the F&W festival. It was my fault for not really looking into it. Might have to give it a try again based on the couple of thumbs up here.

The Compass and Ale at the YC has excellent lobster rolls, also.

I have a picture of the inside that I've been meaning to post. Hardest part was folding the lettuce out of the way to get a good pic of the lobster meat inside (and it was a decent amount!)

Glad to know they have improved this. Last time we ordered one was two years ago, and it was ridiculously small. About a 4 inch bun with less than 1/2 cup of filling--it looked more like a tapas appetizer than an entree! I look forward to trying it again next trip.

Here's a picture from my phone of the lobster roll. It's not a very good picture and the lettuce extends beyond the picture frame. Apparently my camera makes sandwiches appear smaller than they are...

I have CHH on my plan, but I would like to try the lobster roll, but I have never had hush puppies, and would like to try them, can I swap the chips for hush puppies?

I did mobile ordering and I had the option to choose my side item from a list, so you can definitely pick hush puppies instead of fries.

I have to ask what are “hush puppies”? In Australia, they are a brand of comfortable shoes. I had the lobster roll today, it had slightly too much mayo for me, and was served with those rock hard potato chips with a lot of salt on them - I didn’t realize I could ask for a different side (lesson learnt). But the lobster was plentiful and tasty.

A hushpuppy is a small, savory, deep-fried round ball made from cornmeal-based batter. Hushpuppies are frequently served as a side dish with seafood and other deep-fried foods.

I have seen pictures of the lobster roll from this restaurant and it looks like it varies? Some look like chopped up lobster with a lot of mayo. Some look like large chunks of lobster? Which one is served at this restaurant?

I've only ever seen it look like mayonnaise soup. The one in post #10 is new to me.

Thank you, I will give them a try next time

Also, to add, the odd name has to do with them basically just being some leftover batter that was fried and given to the dogs to keep them quiet. I guess people developed a taste for them too as they are very popular here and served mostly with seafood.

We do also have the shoes. :)
