I am from Mass and I will tell you what the people on the boards told me. Do not bother to eat Lobster in Fla. Unless it is NE Lobster it is not great. I happened to get some of the Southern type lobster a couple of weeks ago when we were in Fla and it was NOT what we are used to. The all you can eat places according to those in the know on the boards are just going to be a disappointment too.
Wait till you get home and take a trip to Maine or N.H. if you do not want to be disappointed. I wish I had.

There is a restaurant called The Crab House near the Mercado shopping village, I think. They are a chain of restaurants so you should be able to go online and check out the menu and location. There's also a place called Boston Lobster Feast. I have never been there but it does a lot of advertising.

And just what is the difference between a NE lobster and a "southern-type" lobster? Besides the accent.

Jeeze it is easy to see you are not a Northener! The lobster in Fla is not the same as those caught in the cold waters off the Atlantic. It is kind of spotted and almost striped similar to the Australian type. The accent has nothing to do with it although the Northern ones do go to Harvard. Why do you think they call it Boston Lobster Feast? Why do you think that they advertise it as Maine or NE lobster. It is just better. Sorry!! The ones in the South have no flavor.

Easy, Bella! I was born and raised in the north and lived there for 26 years. I just never ate that much lobster. I almost forgot how much attitude one needs to live up north.

;)

wow
didn't mean to start an argument here
simply looking for an inexpensive seafood option here in the disney area

Well I can tell you where not to go. I tried Angel's all you can eat Lobster buffet. The lobster was incredibly tough. Wouldn't waste my money there again.

Duke you cracked me up this morning!

My husband and I ate a Boston Lobster Feast last year and I really didnt care for it. They have several seafood choices on their buffet but boy was it expensive. They had lobster but it was really small. I had read somewhere that they actually get their Lobsters from Canada because their standards dont require the lobster to be a certain size or it is smaller then in the US. I found that interesting because you would think they would get the lobster from New England at least because the name does say Boston.

I think the buffet for my husband and myself and our 5 year old was about $80.00 which I thought was really high for what we got. I am not the biggest fan of Red Lobster but I would choose Red Lobster over Boston Lobster Feast. Just my opinion.

It has nothing to do with attitude, north eastern or not. It has everything to do with taste preference, and those of us born and raised on cold water Maine (or other areas of the north east) lobster, can tell the difference between a cold water and a warm water lobster. The difference is significant.

Even in those places where the lobsters are flown in from the north east they are standard grade, often with claws missing and undersized (in that Canada allows shorties to be kept legally). They are overcooked and in the buffet setting of Boston Lobster Fest and other all you can eat seafood places, served in generally messy conditions. I'll stop short of saying unsanitary, because that could be considered inflammatory, but if you have a problem eating from containers that have the serving utensil completely submerged, and other people serving themselves with their hands, and taking bites of things and putting it back...well then you'll not like these feeding frenzy buffets.

So, if Bella has attitude, add mine to hers. My attitude keeps me out of those places and ordering my lobster (hard shell only please) directly from Maine, and cooking it in my home.

The attitude I was referring to was regarding the way she chose to answer, not in the answer itself. I'm sure there is a big taste difference in northern vs. southern lobster. The waters are so different, there has to be a difference.
