I know Narcoosee's is 2 credits on ddp. I see lobster on the menu. Does anyone know if the lobster is excluded from the ddp? Just thought I's check before I finalize my ADR's. Thanks!

Yes, the whole Maine lobster is included. I just had it while on the dining plan this past August. It was good too!

Yep - it's included! And totally worth it! :woohoo:

Yes it is included on the DDP, we just went there last April. We're from New England and my wife had the whole Maine lobster and she said it was the best one she has ever had. I had the surf and turf and it was quit good. Enjoy!!:cool1:

Great! Thanks everyone...can't wait for the lobstaaaa!

Yes it's included (as is the surf and turf) for 2 dining credits. But mine was like rubber. hard to cut through and harder to chew.

Hmmmm, I wonder why the CM told me differently? When I called to make my reservations, before free dining was announced, I had a PIN that offered free DDP. I specifically asked if anything was excluded and she said “you can have anything BUT lobster.” Her saying that caught me off guard because I was under the impression that lobster would be ok. :confused3

Two weeks ago, DH came home with three 1 1/4 lb lobsters for DS and I. Cooked them in our kitchen. They were very tastey and tender. Total cost $19.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I don't understand. Do you have 60,000 employes working at your home? Because that's where most of that Narcoossee's $59 lobster price-tag is going. Into their pockets as a form of salary. Can you explain your point?

:confused3

Because the CM was wrong.

I suggest that one never asks cast members at WDW-DINE any specific information about restaurants. They give wrong information a lot of the time. All I ever use WDW-DINE for is to make reservations.

However, Narcoosees is the only restaurant on DDP that serves a lobster entree.

I know what ya mean winter man. I grew up on the coast, and while lobster is yummy, I don't get THAT excited about it. It is odd to me when family begs us to send it, and tells us the outrageous price they pay!!!!!

Mom of 2, I think that is what her point was

I also laugh when I see Narcoossee's $58 price for lobster as a local market in Connecticut (Stew Leonard's) was selling lobster for $3.99 a pound many weeks this summer.

My wife and I had the lobster once at Narcoossee's while on the DDP and we were both disappointed - very rubbery.

We like the restaurant and will be dining there again next month - the Ahi Tuna is very nice.

Does that local market (Stew Leonard's) have the third largest bus system in Connecticut? No? I didn't think so. In the future, can you please make like comparisons? Thank you. :)

I don't really understand your point but what I am trying to say is Maine lobster is in plentiful supply this year and restaurants usually charge "market price". In this instance "market price" in 2010 should be less than 2009. The wholesale cost of lobster to Disney is probably not much different than their other seafood offerings but the retail price is much higher. Perhaps you are trying to make some comment re. pricing to reflect overhead, fine (I am an CHQ accountant and have done many business cases). In any event $59 by even Disney standards is overpriced and the product was poor...if you're doing the DxDP give it a shot and decide for yourself of course...could never image paying out of pocket for this and I'm sure few do.

That's exactly what I'm saying. People always say they can get better Chinese food locally for a fraction of the price of what they get at Nine Dragons. But the $18 for honey chicken at Nine Dragons is not going back to Nine Dragons -- not entirely. A majority of that is going to the gas for the buses, the maintainence for the rides and the upkeep of the landscaping.

Comparing prices in the real world to WDW is not a fair or like comparison. Does Disney overcharge for almost everything? Of course. But what you're paying for gets you more than just what the server delivers to your table, and I don't understand why people can't see, recognize or acknowledge that.

Another comment I would like to make is that Disney has been jacking up food prices the past few years far beyond their real materials, labor and OH cost increases likely to compensate for attendance declines, free dining, additional room discounts, lousy box office and ABC results etc.

As a person who spends 30+ days at WDW each year and finds dining to be an integral part of the WDW experience this annoys me to no end. For example look at the Biergarten which had a dinner buffet price around $24 a couple of years ago and now is up to $35 - close to a 50% increase in 3-4 years. At this pace all the buffets will be $50 in five years.

Since I'm a numbers guy I remember pretty much every price increase at California Grill (and there were a minimum of two last year, maybe three - I was there seven times).

I know, if you don't like it don't go and we have adjusted our dining habits accordingly. For our 11 night F&W trip in October, we have five open nights. We had only one open night last year.

And besides, some of us live in land-locked states and we get all excited about fresh seafood. I would never be able to get lobster for $3.99 a pound at the fish market . . . unless it was imitation lobster.

Add in a view of Wishes . . . $58. sounds pretty reasonable.

I'm concerned about this "no lobster" on the DDP myself. I was listening to a podcast last evening and Deb from allears was on it. She too also mentioned hearing reports that the lobster was not included on the dining plan. If I have to burn 2 credits there I best be able to order lobster :confused3
