LMM Plays Tour Guide - Spring Break at the World

Next up was Beauty and the Beast. Again, we got there early for fairly good seats. I went to FP Tower of Terror for later that night.

Belle had a really great voice. Max pointed out that she was a little chunky to play Belle, but her voice was perfect for the part - strong and beautiful. The entire cast was very talented (we saw another cast later that week with my family, and I think they were the back-up... the Belle was thinner, but her voice was kind of weak, as was Gaston's).

No use cropping the heads out of these pictures...

There was a man in front of us sitting with three other adults who was VERY enthusiastic about the show. It was cute - he was heavily applauding after every musical number, then at the end, he was so enthusiastic. "This is my favorite! My favorite show so far! Beautiful, just beautiful!" You could tell he was a regular theater-goer.

I was worried about Max and this show, but I insisted we see it because I thought Marcia would like it. To my surprise, Max really liked it, too. He told me that he loves the music from Beauty and the Beast. He was singing "Be Our Guest" for the rest of the week!

And then our last big show - Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. I tried to convince Max to try to be an extra, but he wouldn't do it. He asked his mom if he should, but she didn't know what he was asking and said no. Then after the show, Marcia told Max he should've tried to be an extra - and Max told her 'I asked and you said no!' :rolleyes2 Oh, well - maybe next time.

I couldn't help but watch Max to see his reaction when they reveal that one of the extras is actually a stuntman. What was crazy is that we actually had a really crazy extra that wasn't planted. He was asked to pretend fight the guy and pull out an imaginary knife - and he reaches in his pocket and pulls out a pocket knife!!! "Woah - not a real knife! How'd you get through security?" :rotfl: Max also totally bought the planted extra until he rolled over the top of his head... that was the giveaway.

After Indiana Jones, Marcia was ready to head back to the resort, and Max was ready to eat dinner. We went to ABC Commissary because Max had used my Magic Mobile App to search for hamburgers, and they listed an angus bacon burger that he wanted. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. The food was good (I had heard awful reviews, but we were both pleased), and it was air conditioned and laid-back.

After that, we went to use our FPs for Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster.

Now, there was huge worry about our TSM FP conflicting with the second showing of Fantasmic. I had thought that there was one Fantasmic show at 9:00 because that's what was listed online, but it turned out that there were actually two showings - one at 8:30 and one at 10:00. I was really worried because our TSM FPs were for 9:15-10:00, and I didn't think that we'd be able to do both (the RnRC FP was also from 8 something to 9 something, so we had really managed to accumulate three different FPs at different times during the day for around the same time that night). Max and I both decided that we'd do TSM first, then try to get over to Fantasmic - if we made it, great. If not, no big deal. We had both seen the show before, and it wasn't either of our favorites. My reasoning for wanting to see the show is that it's something my family usually skips because it takes so much time to wait in line, enter the amphitheater, leave the amphitheater - it's not like a fireworks show where you can literally stop where you are and watch.

Well, we had some time to kill before our TSM FPs, so we got ice cream at Scoop's, Max's request. We also started to wait in line to see Buzz and Woody, but decided that the wait was too long.

I was getting really antsy and we were close to our FP time, so Max decided to sweet talk the CM into letting us go early. I was prepared for rejection, but it was a young girl CM (probably a CPer, didn't take note), and Max has a way of making innocent eyes that are difficult to say no to. So, she let us go in five minutes early!

DSC_0862 by vshingl, on Flickr

Then, because there were just two of us, we got ushered to the side line and were in and out of TSM in no time. Unfortunately, Max beat me this round.

That's too bad nobody wanted to be an extra in the show. I was lucky enough to be selected to be one last trip and it was awesome! With my love for the Indiana Jones movies it was a dream come true for me :)

Hooray! Someone is reading my TR! :cool1:

I was an extra back in 2010, but I was really confused the entire time even though I had seen the show numerous times before. I wanted Max to be an extra, but at the same time, he'd never seen the show, so I'm glad he got to. Maybe next time!

It was my GF's first time seeing the show too so it was exciting for me to be apart of it. I was pretty confused as well having seen it a bunch of times. I was so focused on making sure I followed the CM directing us I didn't pay much attention to the show going on. lol

Tonight I will begin sharing my Fantasmic pictures. I took 176. Of course, I was using my camera's smart photo selector, so I was taking multiple photos at a time. This worked really well - the best pictures I've ever taken of the show.

I was very pleased with how these pictures turned out... usually, because the boats move so fast, the lights are always blurry. Smart snapshot selector is the way to go!

I have a zoom lens, but I had decided not to bring it just because of the hassel and not wanting to risk breaking a new expensive lens. It was Hollywood Studios that made me wish I had brought it - would have been perfect for all of the shows!

In the past, I haven't been the biggest fan of Fantasmic. I think it has something to do with the hassel of getting in and out of the amphitheater (this would be an awful place to be during a disaster). However, I enjoyed the show. It still ranks last on my list of Disney nighttime entertainment, but it's a good show. My critique of it is still the same - too much water projection. Yes, it's really cool, but I always seem to watch Fantasmic when it's cold at night and the water spray is cold, too, and there is just too much straight water projection in my opinion. I think it would be cool if they did water projection with fireworks or something like that. I just feel like a movie clip is a movie clip whether it's projected on water or a projection screen.

The crowd leaving Fantasmic actually wasn't too bad. I'd say the theater wasn't even 2/3 full. Max called the car service when Fantasmic was over so we could do a little shopping on the way out. We stopped at Crossroads and bought an Ohio State pin for his mom (she's an Ohio State grad) that she had admired that morning (what a sweet boy...).

It was SO NICE having the car take us back to the resort at the end of the day - no riding on crowded buses and stopping everywhere! And the driver played good music. It was quite a treat.

And speaking of treats, check out the hotel's apology treat to us...

I'm glad they gave you guys those snacks as an apology. I would have been so frustrated. Especially since they were being so rude.

So, I've been following your TR and I'm really loving night pictures! I'm in the market for a new camera, so I looked up the nikon1. Its expensive, but it looks like its worth it!

The apology treat looks yummy! :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing your Disney trip, we will be going in just over one months time so it has been good reading and seeing the photos.

Can not wait now!!!

It is a pricey camera, but I'm really glad I purchased it. It's great because it takes DSLR Nikon photos, but is a compact size and not too heavy or large to carry around. They currently have three different lenses. I have two - the 10-30mm and 30-100mm. And I really want the 10mm.

Target ran a special last week and could very well do it again in the future - It was a bundle for the camera, deluxe case (Love this case - You actually attach it to the camera so you don't have to worry about juggling the camera and the case, you can just flip it open and take pictures with the camera still in the case.), and high-speed memory card for $649, I think. I purchased mine from Target, and they had a special then that I could purchase an additional lens for $100 (normally $250). I've seen similar bundles on Amazon and at Best Buy.

We could've easily pushed up against the rope, but since Marcia isn't a fast walker, I figured we should just get a good spot for the show and not worry about rushing the rope.

The morning rush:

We went to Space Mountain first. With the new FP system, we decided to ride first, then FP. Max wasn't a huge fan because he felt like he was going to hit his head on something and was really squished in the seat. I forget that Space Mountain isn't a good ride for tall people.

Next, I noticed the soft opening for Dumbo and the Barnstormer, so I suggested we go there first.

Yeah, we were the awesome big kids riding Dumbo...

Max actually enjoyed it - told me it wasn't nearly as bad as he thought it would be.... it was fun, just not long enough.

Next up, Barnstormer. It's Great Goofini's Barnstormer, but it looks like the name "Barnstormer" is still accurate.

I found this ride uncomfortable - I hate the ridges in the seats! They hurt my back. It's a cute look, but not very comfortable.

Next up, Tea Cups!

Max had us spinning really fast.

DSC_1111 by vshingl, on Flickr

After, I went to FP Peter Pan - but the FP system was down. After waiting in line for ten minutes and not getting a FP, I decided to give up - we'd come back later (never did).
