LLMP affect on DAS

Hi,

We have been fortunate to be approved for DAS and arrive on the 24th of July. I know no-one can predict how the roll out will go (apart from its bound to have some glitches!) but I am wondering if anyone experienced the roll out of Genie+ or previous?

Is it likely to attract more crowds that week and are the LLs likely to be chaotic while the CMS and guests work it all out?

We struggle with uncertainty and chaos so any experience of pass roll outs are most welcome!

No one knows, we'll find out on the 24th.

Prepare for the worse and hope for the best. Better to be pleasantly surprised than unprepared.

I would not be worried about the LLs themselves. The process should be the same- they have a LL at a booked time, they arrive, tap & go. They get stopped by a CM if it’s the wrong time or wrong ride.

I would be concerned about the app. If the app crashes you won’t be able to use it to book DAS times. Have the app on multiple phones if your party has more than one phone as anyone in the group can do a DAS booking as long as the DAS member rides. If no one’s app works any blue umbrella or the guest relations office can book you a DAS return time. In that case I would send someone besides the DAS user to wait in the line because it’s likely to be very long if the app goes down for everyone park wide.

And with the revamped accommodations, when Disney IT gloriously fails, processes like AQR will continue to work and a viable option when tech goes haywire.

We were at Disney World when Genie+ launched. It was mid-trip. We were prepared for it to be chaotic and nuts, but we noticed nothing. We had read what we could in advance, so were ready to book that first morning. We got what we wanted. At the time, I thought likely a lot of people didn’t know about it or buy it that first day. Not so sure you can project based on our experience, though, because on July 24 more than one day’s worth of on site and off site people will be trying to book.

Thank you for your insights. Yes I think Disney IT is likely to be the biggest problem on that day. I appreciate the advice and past experience very much.

It probably is better to prepare for the worst and hopefully be pleasantly surprised!
