LL Bean--Rolling Adventure Duffle

Thanks for all your replies :thumbsup2 I think I will go with the Large for me and DS. Hopefully then we will have plenty of room for all the stuff we acquire on the trips!

The only thing is that if they are stuck in a pouring rain somethings inside will get wet. They were loaded for the Disney Express and we think that they were on the top of the pile and it rained very hard that last day. Some things did get wet but that was on the way home so it was no big deal and I don't think anything valuable got ruined.

When I first starting travelling, it was with those zippered vinyl or cloth soft sided suitcases. After getting one ripped, (and I think I had a hard sided one that came down the conveyor belt unlatched...), I got in the habit of putting a big garbage bag in my suitcase and packing the clothes in the bag, which I tied shut before closing the suitcase.

Might be a good idea for these duffles too.

I have always put a garbage bag at the bottom and top of my suitcase in case it gets stuck in the rain to be loaded/unloaded at the airport. I know I've been on a plane watching them load the suitcases, and seeing some that are just sitting in the rain....

Plus, then you have 2 extra garbage bags for laundry or whatnot if you need them.

I have two XL duffles. They are huge. If I would have known how big when I ordered them (I was 12!) then I wouldn't have gotten the XL. They are fun though and I love them. L.L. Bean makes great luggage!

We like ours as well. We have 2 mediums, 2 larges and 1 extra large. The XL was good to haul our snorkelling stuff, lifejackets, etc.. in but it is HUGE!

The only thing I don't like about them is that they don't stand on the end - they tip - so when you are hauling it through the airport and then stop to stand in the lines, becareful to hold onto the handles so they don't tip.

I think my favourite size is the medium.

We have it too and I love it. Plus it's so easy to spot at the airport!! For our last two Disney trips I packed two people in the one bag. Me and DH in September and me and DD16 in March.

My girls have the medium sized non rolling ones and in the summer they can pack for a week in them.
:rotfl:How much do the airlines charge to ship two people in the duffel bag? Now that is why they call this the budget board.:rotfl2:
