Happy Mother's Day!!! Today we head to the most magical place on earth THE MAGIC KINGDOM
Guess What?? I think Mickey has a thing for me!!! Shhh!! He called me again this morning at 6:00am. I jumped out of bed and woke up the troops.
We had PS for Mother's Day breakfast at Kona Cafe for 7:30. I was looking forward to the Tonga Toast. Boy I wasn't surprised. But definitely share it with someone. It is good, but incredibly sweet.
My little guys had the mickey mouse waffles (not on the menu, but the server got them for me). They were the cutes thing. Mickey Mouse heads and very thick too. Kids loved them. I placed 2 orders of Mickey Waffles. "They'll never eat both orders" (guess who commented on that - yep the MIL) "Yes they will, I said" Firmly standing my ground.
All in all the menu at Kona's is varied and the food was delicious. Our server Gary was hysterical. The only thing, he never brought my MIL the water she wanted. (I guess she needed to fill up with one glass so she wouldn't have to drink anything during the day).
Off to the Monorail stop, right next door to Kona's. I've gotta say the convenience of the monorail being right there is awesome. Rolled the strollers on, Rolled them off. We took the Ferry boat from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom. What a nice ride.
And there it was. The Magic Kingdom. I had been waiting for this day for 285 days. There is nothing like your first view of Main Street and the Castle as you pass through the gates.
"Nobody Move"
"What's the matter mom"
"Get the photographer, we need a professional picture in front of the castle"
"Can't we go on Space Mountain"
"NO - Get the photographer"
"Wouldn't it be cheaper if I took the picture (said the MIL)"
"There he is - Everyone line up and smile"
Ahh, my wonderful happy family in front of the castle.
"Can we go now"
"GO ahead - Meet us in one hour by Pirates"
And off we strolled through Main Street. The trolley car and singers were performing. Mickey Balloons filled the sky. It was a glorious day. It was also 94 degrees. It was going to be a hot one.
We headed over to Pirates and the Jungle Cruise. My little guys (4 and 2 years old) love all the rides. I never worry about them being scared. They are great. We come out of Pirates and the ride leaves you in the gift shop. "Typical Disney utters the MIL" So of course I take the opportunity to shop till I drop. "Have all the packages sent to the resort, please, Thank you"
Captain Hook was standing outside the gift shop. Both Boys jump out of the stroller and run towards him. Dylan (4 year ol) proclaims, I have to shoot him, with the pirate gun I just bought him. Captain Hook is one of the funniest characters to meet. He plays around with you, pushes the guys out of the pictures and is really flirtacious with the ladies.
We did Frontierland - Splash mountain ( I passed on since boy boths were napping), Big thunder Mountain Railroad I wasn't passing on. Love that ride.
We did the Country Bear Jamboree, as cute as I remembered. The boys loved it. We had some hot dogs to tie us over to dinner at Liberty Tree. No drinks - HA!!! Sent hubby back to get some sodas. For those of you that haven't read day one and day two. My mother in law is part camel and doesn't think anyone needs to drink anything during 94 degree days at Disney.
We head over to Tomorrowland and ride Buzz about 5 times. No wait. The lines were fabulous.
We also went to Mickey's Toon Town. Dylan loved the Goofy Barnstormer roller coaster. Also got his face painted. That's a great little area for the little guys, but be prepared to spend some time there.
Well, it's fast approaching our 5pm PS for Liberty Tree Tavern. This is a character meal, I can't wait. The atmosphere there is wonderful. All colonial dress. The characters were all dressed in colonial clothes. The interaction with them is great. They are all over us. The autograph books are flying. We have 4 of them remember. And the film is rolling (not the camcorder, because unfortunately it died). I shot about 23 rolls of film total on this trip.
We left after a wonderful fillling dinner of flank steak, turkey, ham, potatoes, veggies. A wonderful salad and a great dessert.
we went swimming back at the Poly, and prepared for our Pirate Cruise tomorrow!!
