LIZARD parts found in salad at Applebee's (WARNING! Gross pic!)

I read that the Apple Corp is going to purchase prewashed prebagged lettuce for their salads as a result of this little "incident".

I have to admit....the first thing I did was look at the OPs location. Pheewwww not even close to here.

I'll just have to find a new favorite salad, or just go to Bennigans, Chili's or Fridays which are all on the same block

Ahhhhhhh but what you dont know is what goes on in those restaurants kitchens.

A friend of mine worked at Applebees in Jacksonville, Fl. and always raved about how CLEAN it was! She had worked at a lot of restaraunts and really felt their cleaning practices were the best she had ever seen. My mom and I love Applebees, especially the salads! Oh well, don't know if I will ever go there again! It really could happen anyplace I guess. I thought wild lizards only lived in warmer places? There sure aren't any up here!

I worked at Applebee's for 2 years and would eat there right now! It's funny, but a girl I worked with at Applebee's went out to dinner with her fiance and found a LIVE FROG in her salad. I guess the moral of the story is It doesn't matter what resteraunt you go to. Be safe and order a burger. At least the amphibians will be cooked!

That is the problem. Lizards and bugs grow well in places where lettuce is grown. All they need to do is hide between the leaves and they get a free trip across the country.

Something like this can happen in your won kitchen. Sure, you will probably be pretty vigilant, but you can still buy product that has something "creepy" on or in it.
