Living With the Land FP+ Question

I cannot believe my eyes--this is a tiered attraction at Epcot?? I have never waited more than 30 seconds for that ride (it is one of our favorites). Are the standby times really long if I do not FP this??
I certainly hope not. Good grief.

Living with the land wait times are weird. Majority of the time it's not worth a FP+ though.

Before FP+ rides like HM, POTC, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land never had lines except in very high seasons. Now with FP+ these types of rides routinely have 20-30 minute lines.

You should expect a 20 minute wait if you don't FP+ living with the land.

We FP + it last year just in case . It was a waste as we walked right on both times .. i do love this ride so i will Fp again just in case

While I agree that it shouldn't be a tiered ride, I went in July and December and most of the time the line was 10-20 minutes. That being said it should not be a tiered ride.

It may have been even harder to believe had they picked Nemo or Figment or even Captain EO to be a tier one attraction - but they had to pick something

That's one of those attractions that we'll do if there is no wait; never considered it worth waiting for, I guess. Last month over a two week period we never even rode it. Every time we checked, the line was always longer than we were willing to wait and we didn't want to waste an FP on it.

But yeah - Living with the Land in Epcot is a tiered attraction yet Carousel of Progress in MK doesn't require an FP at all? The reasoning is clear.

Its there because people have to find something to use their FP on. I had a FP for it once as there were no other choices and it actually saved me about 10-15 minutes. But then an hour later, there was no wait.

The weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas we waited 40-50 minutes for Living With the Land. We won't waste a FP+ on it, but we do like the ride so we were willing to wait. Many rides at WDW that never had lines/wait times before FP+ have some interesting wait times now.

We did it a twice over Christmas/NY, both less than 5 min wait. Walked past a few other times and there was never a much of a queue.

Even on New Year's Eve the wait was only 30 minutes. After New Years, we added a day and got stuck with a fast pass that moved us past about 10 people in the standby line.

Nope it probably doesn't need one but I used it last Oct on my solo trip and it did save me a few minutes. I had purchased my ticket that day and didn't get to the park until a little before 3PM so there was no chance of me getting TT or Soarin FPs. Ended up FP-ing Land, Seas & Space Ship Earth. Each had a wait of approximately 20 mins listed (probably an actual wait of about 10-15mins). By "pulling" my next FP closer after I got off the previous I was able to do walk onto 3 rides and make a quick 10-15 min walk around the aquarium in less than and hour (in line for Land at 2:55 - got off Space Ship Earth at 3:53). Considering it was a Sat at EPCOT during F&W and the day before Maelstrom closed I was happy.

Now would I chose it if I was pre-planning my FP, no, but as an alternative for a late arrival or as a choice for someone with children that don't meet the height restrictions for other rides I didn't mind it.

You hit the nail on the head. They need a high capacity, ride with no height requirement so there's "always" a Tier 1 choice for people. At DHS, that part is currently being played by The Great Movie Ride.

I have seen it anywhere from walk on to about 30 minutes. It's really a crapshoot. When we were there in August, the lines was about 20 minutes most of the day. Either way, I wouldn't waste a FP on it. If it's busy, I would just go do something else and come back at a later time.

Back in the day (before Soarin) you had to wait in a very long line if you wanted to ride Living with the Land.
