Most common rumor is that the old sea cabs will return in some way, shape or form. They may also be utilizing some of the holographic technology developed for the Nemo sub ride at DL. This technology will be used at DL to project moving images of characters like Nemo and Dory into the tanks water outside the sub.

I was talking to the Manager of the new Disney Soda Shop in Hollywood and he told me his friend was on the LS development team and he new exactly what was going on but wouldn't tell me. I begged but nothing.

I hope the new "ride" (if that's what it is) will be a bit longer than those old "sea cabs". How far did they take you?? Semed about 50 feet or so, then it was over!!!

One of the other rumors more credible rumors involving the rehab is that the attraction exit and entrance will be switched (and the hydrolators removed.) Conceivably they could remove the theaters and the entrance queue area and use that space to enhance the sea cab ride.

It's kind of exciting to think about the prospect of turning the sea cabs into a legitimate Disney dark ride. Probably won't happen, but my fingers are crossed.

Does anyone know if the dive expedition is still available during the rehab? I know the restaraunt is still offering the view of the main tank, but I want to do the dive in October and I think it may be shut down as well.

Anybody know? I called MS and they didn't know.

I think I heard that the tours are still running. I may have heard this from our wedding planner, but I'm not sure.

Our reception is at the Living Seas in early November, and I was worried that the lights wouldn't be on in the tanks due to the rehab, but she seems to think they will. This is good, because I will have to freak out on somebody if we can't even see into the aquariums, which is the entire point of having this locale.

DiveQuest and the AquaSeas tours are still offered during the rehab. Rumor has it that the Dolphins in Depth program will be suspended during this time.

I have never heard of the disney soda shop in Hollywood! Is there info on this place somewhere?

JimFitz...Don't forget the discounts offered on WDW tours. AP get 15%, DVC members 15%, and Disney VISA was offering 20% during the summer, but I'm not sure if it is still valid. DiveQuest was running about $140 before the discount. My DH and DD both dove in the LS in August for the third time and had a great experience. You will receive a certificate and t-shirt and the opportunity to purchase a video that one of the dive masters takes of all the participants.
In August, there were two sessions available each day. One at 4:30 and one at 5:30 PM. The session lasts about two hours with 45 minutes in the tank. You can obtain more info by calling 407-WDW-Tour. HTH

Two of our party are doing the dolphin quest tour on the 10th (I think) so the tours are still running though the "attraction" is closed.

I hope they re open it before thanksgiving - that'sthe day we fly home!

I don't visit this board very often. What is the Nemo sub ride in Disneyland??

Disneyland's Submarine ride, which sat idle for 5 or 6 years, is being redone with a Finding Nemo theme. Scheduled to open in 2007, the subs will pass by the usual undersea animitronics and also dry underwater boxes with new special effects and show elements. The rumors on the web suggest that this will be a pretty spectacular update of the classic ride.

I have always missed the subs at both parks, and am pretty excited about this whole thing. If the effects work well, imagine what they could have done with 20K! Oh well, you can't have everything I guess.

Rumors suggest that this update will cost between 50 and 80 million dollars.
