We live within walking distance of Sea World, and about 10 minutes drive from Disney World and Universal.
I have lived in Yorkshire most of my life, although I am from an Irish family.
My husband lived in Florida most of his life, his Dad worked at Kennedy Space Center for the first 20 exciting years of Space exploration.
I first came to Florida in 1982, to meet my in-laws for the first time.
We moved here in 1992, and I became a US citizen in 2000.
We have Florida Resident annual passes for Sea World and Aquatica.
We rarely visit Disney World, and only when we get free passes. We used to live closer to Universal so we got annual passes for it at the time.
We have neighbours who work "for the Mouse" so it's no problem getting in.
If family and friends come in the Summer months and want to go to Disney, we will wave them off and meet them later for dinner. It is torture being in a Theme Park from late May to late September. It's also Hurricane Season.
I got a phone call from a young relative in Ireland last week. She asked "what's the best time of year to visit Florida?" I told her "don't come in Summer. Best time for lovely weather is February, March and November. Warm, sunny and pleasant without the humidity."
She is coming to stay with us in November. She will be here for Thanksgiving 27th November, and a Space Shuttle Launch scheduled for December 4th.
We will take her to Disney and all the Parks she wants to visit. It is her first time in the USA so we want her to enjoy it.
We will also take her to Orlando, which most tourists never see.
The City is about 15 miles north of Disney World. It has beautiful Lake Eola in the middle, a Disney ampitheatre, you can take a swan pedalo around the lake, and watch the real swans.
