Living in Vancouver or Canada in General

I am from windsor, Ont yes the smog is horrid on some days, but other days not so bad. We have bad winters, and good winters...it all depends on the year. The summers are hot and humid. The job sisuation here is worst than the smog, even qualified pple have hard times finding work right now, and I am not sure if even in 2 years it will be much better. Its scary here right now, for those in need of a job. They are few and far between. I would suggest moving to Ottawa, Toronto, or even London if you decide on moving to Ontario.
I have been to Vancouver, and the B.C, Alberta region a few times, and I have family out that way. In Calgary, and Vancouver. The housing sistuation is very expensive compared to Ontario. In Calgary and Alberta in general the jobs are booming, and might for some years to come. A lot of pple from Ontario are actually moving out there to get jobs. My sister moved out there last yr and had a job within a day. That region of Canada is absolutely beautiful as well. I hope when I am done school to either move out that way, or move to Europe.
I hope this helps in some way.

Vancouver is a very expensive place to live but also very beautiful and the weather is mild (not overly hot in the summer or cold in the winter). There are pockets of places where housing etc. isn't too expensive (fraser valley, sunshine coast and vancouver island) THe commutes can be difficult but everything has it's pros and cons.

Someone mentioned airfare. We live in the Vancouver, B.C. area and we save at least $1000 for our family of 5 to fly if we go out of Seattle. Even with the three hour drive and a hotel for the night and parking it is worth it for us.

As for employment...Alberta is the place to be right now although it is a boom/bust province.
