If you didn't have a trip planned in the future would you go mad? Does having a Disney trip to look forward to and plan for give you peace? Does it help ease the Disney withdrawals from when you first get back home after a stay?

Are DVC members slightly insane? (Like can you go a day without mentioning WDW? Do family and friends get sick of hearing you talk about WDW?)

ARE YOU AN ADDICT?!? :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I usually always have a trip planned somewhre in the future whether Disney-related or somewhere else. It's like looking forward to heaven when I die.

My wife lives in the moment which is frustrating for me, but better for her. It's almost as if tomorrow doesn't exist for her a lot of the time.

I am only happy and sane if I have a Disney trip planned. Our next trip is in Aug and we are taking my in-laws and everytime I get around them all I want to talk about is Disney. I am not sure if they feel the same. I talk about restaurants and which parks on which days. They must think that I am crazy because the trip is still 150 something days away.

I don't think that all DVCers are insane, just the ones who are on these boards everyday getting our daily dose to make it through to our next day's fix.... But this is a good addiction :p !!!!!

My DH thinks I am nuts... , I must have at least 5 years planned out for our WDW vacations (including DCL). It makes me very happy.
I am so glad for the DVC Boards...I feel as though I have a "support group":p

Yes, i have two trips that i am planning for as you can see in my clock counter, from the time i plan a trip up to the day we leave i am still planning that trip, its like a job, then i go on vacation and then i come home and start planning the next one, i also have other little get away trips.

but they are not as fun and exciting to plan our dvc ones trips, especially using caskbill s dvc planner, and i turn that disney music up, that is playing on the dvc planner and just the feeling inside that it makes you feel like you should be there right now:teeth:

oh, that reminds me i will be on vacation when i have to call ms to put in my request for a trade to hawaii for 2006, yikes !

i havent even planned our 2005 dvc trip,

Ya, you know it is bad when you're AT WDW and need to call to make PSs or a DVC ressie for a DIFFERENT future WDW trip cause it is the booking window! LOL

I bet that has happened to many on here!

ARE YOU AN ADDICT?!?
You betchya !
I was just cleaning the living room and somehow justified a reason why I needed to take a break (after only 20 min) and check these boards

Twice now, in fact. And we'll have it happen again on this next trip! Not very unusual if you book at the 11 month window and are trying to get two trips on one AP!! :)

It does help to have other "nuts" to sound off with! My hubby thinks I am crazy, but looking forward to these trips always puts a smile on my face. I figure there are LOTS worse things people do for "fun!"

I used to really HATE winter and get the winter blues. Now I plan Spring Break from January 1 thru mid-March. It's hard to be sad when you are looking through guidebooks and planning priority seatings...

Our answers are yes, yes yes!!!!!! DH and I are both constantly talking about our Disney trip and what our plans will be. We look so forward to every trip and they can't come fast enough for us. I think some of our friends and family think we are a little over the top about it, but oh well. We were going to skip 2001 because we had our second DD and she was only 10 months old in the fall when we usually take our trip, but we couldn't bear to skip a year, it was just too painful...so off we went!! We watch the Disney DVD "Where Magic Lives" all the time and our past home videos from our trips just to keep us sane! Good to know there are others out there who feel the same!

Yes, Yes,we where just at OKW last Sunday and have our November/December trip booked, will be calling to book for January and Feburary, and have a resale in progress for another 150 points!!! We have it bad, the worst thing is that it's attacked our children, they have there trip requests in also! Is there any hope for us?

Why do you think this is? Think they put something in the water or have subliminal messages in their advertising?

Shan,

Cute thread! Yes, I am addicted to Disney & I'm not ashamed!!

YES, its the water, the air conditioning in the rooms and the happy magical cm's ( do you think their real?):sunny:

We took last year off from Disney since we were saving for a family cruise (non Disney) to celebrate a graduation. We didn't go mad, but we were definitely in a year long depression. On the drive home from the Port of Miami after the cruise, the first question asked in the car was "Ok, so now when are we going to Disney?". On that first trip to Disney in over a year is when we took the plunge and became members. Now, we're just waiting to use our membership for the first time in Sept.

Right now we are in the process of planning 3 trips! Late Nov.04 large family trip, April 2005 just the 2 of us and early Nov. 2005 DCL and SSR,us and our grown kids. I have always planned our WDW trips ahead but never like since we have bought DVC.

I know I am crazy. I asked my DH if maybe we should keep our July trip to WDW a secret so people don't think we are crazy. He asked me if the people on these boards would think we were crazy. I told him, NO! Many of them go more then we do.

So he said that once the people on these boards start to think we are crazy THEN we have gone overboard! Until then, we are in good company! :hyper:

We often have to keep our trips a secret so we can enjoy escaping to our happy place without family wanting to join us. ;)

Yes, I love the planning almost as much as the vacations!!

I don't even have to be going to love planning the trip . . . right now I'm helping my sister plan a trip with her 3 boys - they haven't been to WDW in over 10 years and the youngest (6) has never been - I think I'm more excited than they are ! Wish I could be there to see their faces when they walk into our BWV 2 bedroom digs - I just know they'll be as knocked out as we were our first time there !

Yesterday my best friend asked for help in planning her first ever trip - she wants to take her grandchildren - I'm on the case !
:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Then there's the Dec trip for my other sis (my 'disney nut' buddy- we've taken a few trips together with our kids over the years) and I to take aforementioned youngest nephew for the MVMCP in Dec. (we've been waiting years for him to finally make his first trip with his family so that we can take him back ourselves)!

This morning I happened upon the Segway tour video recently posted by Robb and suddenly realized that this would be the perfect birthday surprise for DS on his 16th birthday next year - yeah, another trip to plan !
:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Good thing we joined DVC ! . . . and I just started having grandchildren - another whole generation to have fun with!

Yes, everyone I know thinks I'm a little crazy about WDW (which I proudly confirm that I am!). But instead of an addiction, I like to call it my HOBBY !!;) :smooth:

Glad you guys understand !:teeth:
