Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

I just wanted to update that I added the "new" people to my FE list too. Normally, I am SO prepared by now, but I'm still scrambling, so what's a few more?

My daughter reminded me this morning that it was 11 days till we leave, and my heart almost stopped. I last remember saying 13 days, and that seemed like plenty of time, but 11 seems like it's so much closer, and my FEs and TON of sewing isn't complete yet!!!

I still have nothing to do in Grand Cayman, any recommendations?

Mindi- Glad to see you here!! Hoping school does not give you guys a hard time. Cant wait for this trip. We are all staying at country inn Friday night. Maybe we can all get together. We land in Jacksonville at 10:30, and Kyle lands in Orlando at 3:30. Then we will all be at the hotel. Glad the move went well. Hope the house here sells fast. We will see you next weekend.

Grand Caymans seem a lot like Key West in my mind. If you have not seen Hell go see that downtown is pretty cool as well.
We usually just head for a beach and jet ski or something like that.
Lots of resonable priced excursions to do posted by Disney.
I would suggest these because of the short time in port and the fact we are tendering.
If you are on a Disney excursion they will hold the ship of your tour is running late.
Hope this helps

Anyone else traveling with a boy or girl around 4? My son plays independently pretty well. He's not much of a talker so I'm a little worried he may be overwhelmed in Oceaneers club. Our last cruise was last Oct. He had just turned 3 but was not potty trained. The crew did allow him to stay in the club, but we had to come physically check on him once an hour in the event he needed changed. Needless to say, we never left him in there for more than an hour or so. My husband and I are in desperate need of some "us" time since those moments are few and far between. I'm really hoping DS will WANT to be in the club. At least my mom is an early nighter and she is right across the hall from us. She said he can stay with her at night :))

We are doing the Island tour and turtle farm in Grand Caymen. Have seats reserved at Tropicante in Costa Maya, and thinking about Chankanaab in Cozumel. Only plan for Castaway is DH and I are planning on running the 5K.

Anyway, we would love to find a friend for my son to bond with. Hoping someone on here has a little one around his age. :))

I got two offers for your ... 3 year old son ... 5 year old son ... I am sure they will have a blast together. I think we are doing the Tropicante in Costa Maya also, just need to make a reservation.

We were also doing the 5k run on CC, but have begun to reconsider it. We have Remy the night before and are not sure what kind of shape we will be in to run :rotfl2:

getting close ... see everyone on board.

Oh, our schedule is as follows

AM / PM - Roll out of bed
PM / AM - Get back into bed

Also, do we sign the FE gifts ?

It's too bad that you have to cancel . If it were MY husband ...I'd leave his Dumas at home and go anyway :rotfl:. We've been waiting 3 years for this vacation and the only thing that will keep ANY of us from going, would be :littleangel:!

Oh, SO much to catch up on! :) First, to those who've asked for a reminder on when/where our meetup is, I saw LoriS included it a few posts up but since I've already copied the info, I'm adding it again in big, bold font. ;)

As to adults bringing our moms...

I'm another mom (with hubby) cruising with our daughter and her family. We're on the same deck, they're port and we're starboard. My grandson is almost 3. Looking forward to sharing his very first cruise.

Glad to see there are other moms coming. so excited that my mom is joining us. she has done great after her surgery. still not able to wear a shoe, but we will see in 2 weeks. she is still in her boot during the day.

My mom will be on the cruise too and we don't have any kids for her to help out with. We have vacationed with her at WDW several times since joining DVC. She's in a connecting stateroom. I figure she'll spend some time exploring the ship, visiting the pool and just relaxing in the sun. She's had a rough summer at work.

Are you going to the meet the first day? Maybe our mom's will hit it off!! Good luck!

AND dads...
Just off the phone with the travel agent... Father in law going to join us!! We were at a wedding last night and he decided he wanted to join us. got home booked his airfare, room at country inn, changed rental car. Glad it worked out to add him to one of our rooms. Boys are excited to have him join us. now just have to wait till the 28th and we are out of here.

It sounds like we might need to get a club together! :dance3: Seriously, I am thrilled so many moms will be there... I'm hoping my mom will meet a few people to spend a little time with if she--or anyone else--is so inclined... Kelly, we'll definitely be at the meetup and are looking forward to meeting you--and your mom! Hope the rest of the moms will be there, too. :)

And speaking of setting up meetings...

Anyway, we would love to find a friend for my son to bond with. Hoping someone on here has a little one around his age. :))

My little boy is turning four in December and we were worried about all of the exact same things... We cruised DCL when he just turned 2 and he wanted nothing to do with tthe Nursery and again when he just turned 3 and the kid's club was a little too overwhelming so we ended up only putting him in there while we stood in the little tiny lobby area so he could see us and it was never long. Now that he's older we have high hopes--he's gotten much more social--but part of bringing my mom is insurance--my husband and I are also dying for some alone time--in case the clubs don't work out. (She lives a few hours away, so they love getting to spend time together.) That said, I really want him to get used to spending some time in the clubs and maybe if the kids become friends first, they'll be more likely to want to go to the club together! (That peer pressure thing can work positively, too--on our last cruise, our tablemate's daughter had been terrified of the characters... When she saw our little boy so excited to see them and giving hugs, it really brought her around. :)) Anyway, look forward to meeting all of you and your family, too!

I still have nothing to do in Grand Cayman, any recommendations?

Someone posted this excursion: http://discountexcursions.com/grandcayman/stingray-sandbar-and-coral-gardens-boat-adventure/
Looks cool but I'm hoping someone has tried it or has some other options to offer!

Finally, great big welcome to those of you newly joining and sad farewell to those leaving.

We are SO close... And I've gone from feeling like this-just-can-not-get-here-soon-enough to oh-my-god-I-am-SO-not-ready! :crazy2:

Can't wait to see you all in person...:cheer2:

Well we finally got our cabin assignment its 2510. Second deck is always a smooth ride you it should be groovy
See everyone soon

Hi everyone! We are so excited for this cruise. 13 more days!!!! It is me, my DH and DS(4 in 1 month) and my mother. We are calling it my DS's Birthday Cruise. That gets me off the hook of throwing a big party for him ;) We are in stateroom 8560. We have early seating and Palo resi for Pirate Night.

I LIKE your schedule. My schedule does not include sleeping. There's precious little time for sleep, what with all the food :stir: on board that's already calling me.
As for signing your FE gifts? It's not a requirement. The decision is entirely yours. However, if it's handcrafted :artist:, you should sign your artwork ::yes::

:hourglass Only 16,720 minutes until we embark :hyper:

I'm sorry that it didn't work out for you. I hope you didn't lose too much of your cruise fare!!

I personalized gifts for the kids, and I would like to mail it to Brylee, if possible, since I already made it. PM me your address if you don't mind.

Thanks!

Perfect!! And stick with the 5K. I'm sure that I won't feel up to running come day 6 either....but I want that medal!!!!

Great!! How many people are traveling with you? We also have my mom with us, so there's 4. We could defintely link dining. Maybe if my almost 4 year old has someone to hang out with, he'll be a little more willing to sit through his meal ;)
How do we go about this?

I am bringing my mom too! She will probably not even get off the ship! She loves to people watch and always has a book in her hand. I think she has been on each of our Disney cruises.
