LIVE WAWA Flordia Grand Opening Ceremony

:rotfl2: I'm sorry but I can't get excited over a gas station opening.

It's not just a gas station. You would have to live hear to understand. Their hoagies are amazing and for a Northern transplant to ave access to Tasktykakes, Goldenburg Peanut Chews, Take a Boost and Amoroso's rolls-- it is a big deal.

I LOVE WAWA!! And I am thrilled that they are opening in Florida! Disney + Wawa = AWESOMENESS!!

I wonder if they will sell Tastykakes at Wawa in Florida...

Love going there and getting their hot and cold hoagies, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, and flavored coffees/cappuccinos. :cloud9:

They also have limited time offers thru out the year. Right now they have their hoagiefest going on. Discounted hoagies for the summer. During the holidays they have the gobbler hoagie, turkey stuffing with cranberry sauce.

Our Wawa are nasty, filthy little stores.

Geez, here in Monmouth County NJ, our WaWas are all super nice, large, new, combo gas stations and stores. They hire local people, lots of kids get jobs pumping gas too. They are insanely popular here.

I agree. I've lived in both PA and NJ and have been in more Wawas than I should admit. Never, ever, could any of them even remotely considered to be nasty or filthy.

Oh, and the ones that sell gas...have by far the best prices around.

in philly here and i love my wawa too! being from boston originally it took a little getting used to...saying the name can still get me...but i came around. i get my coffee from wawa more than dd now! their mac and cheese is amazing! wawa is the only thing from philly that i miss when im in boston!

and for some reason the men customers are way nicer at wawa than anywhere else....they always hold the doors :confused3 idk, but i will take it!

The hype surrounding the opening of these WAWA gas stations is just like the hype over the recent opening of the second Shake Shack in Florida down here in Coral Gables.I had gone to the South Beach location before but went this Sunday to the Gables location being the first day opened.Waited 1 hour in line, then another 20-25 minutes for my order to get made.I ate a double Shack burger that was like $8,cheese fries $3.70,half size concrete custard $4.25 and a soda for like $2-$3.It was good but I just spent almost $20 and I'm smart enough to know it was not worth that, especially since the sizes of the burgers and custard were not big.I wonder if this hype for both businesses is generated due to both being businesses being from the Northeast and people just wanting to experience something from back home or from word of mouth as I hear the New York Shake Shacks have 2 hour waits and live cameras of the lines so people know what to expect.I'm all for a good gas station chain and if their sandwiches, coffee and other amenities are above average and gas prices are low then I hope they spread all through Florida, but in the end it's still just a gas station, just like Shake Shack is just a burger joint,a burger joint I just spent $20 at.

My parents (South Jersey transplants now in MA) always stay at Marriott Harbour Lake and get subs from Publix when they bring lunch into the park. They are so psyched there is a WaWa right near the timeshare!

There are still a few of the older smaller WaWa's around, but the new large ones with gas stations are great! And their sub/hoagie deals are very good. I love that you can customize every sandwich, like at Subway, but just input it into a computer and they are usually around $5.

Lived in NJ for 6 long years -- those Amoroso rolls were the reason I didn't like Wawa's hoagies...

Give me Jersey Mike's Subs any day of the week!

Excellent news! This makes my future dreams of moving to Florida even better! Now, if they could get Wegman's, too, I'd be all set! ;)

Won't ever happen, because home-grown Publix is quite similar to Wegman's in the fact both are upscale supermarkets.
