Hey everyone!

Just wanted to give you guys a live update from the Fort!

It's been a great trip so far. Everyone here has been super nice and the weather has been perfect - except for a little rain last night. It wasn't too bad, though, because I slept right through it and didn't float away!

Crowds are VERY light this week. Until yesterday, the 2000 loop wasn't even half full.

I plan on posting the full trip report when I get home, but wanted to go ahead and say a special thanks to everyone on the board. Your advice was FANTASTIC! It's really made this trip far more enjoyable. The painters cloth (clkelly) and the outdoor lighting timer are the stars of the show thus far.

And where are all the green ears?!?

Glad your having a good time, and yes the painters plastic was awesome!! I camped a week in October in 2048, loved it and will be going back again a few times a year now that I've been bitten by the FW bug. I didnt see any green ears on my trip either until the last day and I was in a rush to get'em packed up and moved out.. looking forward to your TR!

Is that you in the photo so that I know who to look for?

I fully expect a visit from you Mr. Magic bus when I bring the house critters back in April! I'll have more green stuff by then to hang about so I'll be easy to find.. but like you could miss me with all these kids..:lmao:

Looking forward to it. I guess we were posting at the same time, but I was asking about the photo in the OPs Avatar.
As I was unaware that you were at the Fort, I misssed out on meeting you guys.

Glad to hear that you are having fun! I know what you mean about the green ears. When we were there, the only ones that I saw belonged to folks that I had plans to meet up with and trust me, I was looking. I looped daily looking for ears. I did see quite a few mickey lamps. I think we can safely sat that they belonged to people who had at least visited the boards long enough to find the instructions. Oh well... we can't all be social butterflies, now can we? ;)

Have a fantabulous time for the rest of your trip!

That's me. I'm typically the one tripping my way onto a bus. It's like I lose my balance the minute I'm on vacation.

Btw, great bus service so far. The transportation cast members have been fantastic.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but can you hear the music at night from the Meadows area in the 2000 loop? I loved being close to everything in 1500, but we heard music all night long, esp. those in hammocks. It just about drove my dh crazy!:upsidedow

Haha. Mind? Not at all! If people hadn't answered questions for me, I'd be in bad shape.

I thought I heard the sing along last night, but not sure. It was definitely not loud enough to bother me. I couldn't hear the movie for sure.

What I did hear early yesterday was the driving experience in the MK parking lot. It took a while for me to figure out what it was. It went on most of the Mormon and was starting to get a little old. I heard it today, but only once.

I find that there's a lot of white noise over here. The ac and ice machine at the comfort station help a lot. The only thing that has bothered me when I'm sleeping is the comfort station door slamming.

I think the 2000 loop is seriously underrated. It's definitely a hike to the meadows, but the weather has been too cool to hit the pool anyway. Plus, there's only one stop on the bus between here and the settlement. That's been very convenient.

Just my $0.02 worth!

I would like to ask for a favor......could you please let me know how full the 1400 loop is tomorrow. I have requested it since it is our favorite. We will be arriving tomorrow between 11pm to 2 am.
Thanks,
Nancy

We've got our ears out! If you're swinging by 300, say hi!

We tend to be around in the a.m. mostly (we don't head to the parks much before 11-noon), but we've also got a few "hangin around" days planned.

Will do!

I walked through there on Monday and I'd say 70% full. The 2000 loop has gotten even emptier. I guess it's the calm before the storm.

Maybe I'm ear-blind! I've probably walked right past you if you're in the 300 loop. Ill definitely say hi if I see you guys.

MomofSix- Whatever it was that you and your DH heard, it is not the norm. I have stayed in the 1500 loop plenty, and I have not heard the music that you mentioned. I wonder where it was coming from- if it was from the campfire area, it would have been really loud for folks in 1400.

Haha

You are right- nothing wrong with the 2000 loop at all!

As far as the hike to the Meadow area is concerned, have you tried walking over to the 900 loop footbridge? Or, just crossing the canal between 2000 and 2100 by foot? It is not a long walk to the Meadow TP at all via one of these routes.

I happen to really like the size of some of the sites in the 2000 loop. 1500 is excellent location wise but with my gang, I need as much space as I can get. I did notice some of the sites in 1500 closer to the canal seemed larger. I would like to give it a whirl next trip.. forwarning, i will be stalking all fiends my next trip.. I didnt get to meet anyone and I am a social butterfly ..LOL..

Thank you for taking time out during your vacation to check out the 1400 loop for me. I hope you are having a magical vacation. See ya real soon !

Hey Frank - not sure about here at the Fort (haven't seen anyone on the 300 canal yet) but we took a boat ride to the WL yesterday and there was a pontoon boat fishing in the weeds near the dock who seemed to be having some luck.

:fish:
