Live update from POR!

We arrived today at 3:00 pm and check in was a breeze. Free dining plan is working out great, though a little confusing since we had never used before. Lunch at POR, dinner at Chefs de France. MK tomorrow. Send questions my way and I will be happy to answer!

Did all of your party have to "show their face" at check in?? I have two members coming in later and am worried about everyone having to be there to check in. . .

We will be at POR on 08/25 cant wait. We love it there. Make sure you take the boat ride to DD. I will be on that boat on the 25th.
It is my dream retirement job, 12 more years and I should be floating down the river!!! Have fun. Looking forward to using the Dining plan.
Just DW and me, no kids this trip........boy are they mad at us!!!

So far, crowds have been minimal. EPCOT was quiet last night. We arrived at MK at 9:15 this morning (this would have never happened when we were all younger!), and rode Pirates first - no wait, Fast Passed Splash Mountain though probably did not need to, and rode BTMR 2 times in a row with no wait. Once we made our way to Fantasyland after lunch, it was a little crowded but by this time it was 12:30 pm. It could be my imagination (or paranoia) but I seemed to find more security people around MK.....

Did all of your party have to "show their face" at check in?? I have two members coming in later and am worried about everyone having to be there to check in. . .

I made sure everyone was present at check-in but the only verification they asked for was my hotel voucher and a picture ID. I don't know if this was because the CM saw that everyone in my party was with me, or because she was a newbee. Not to be negative, but during my check-in process this CM found the need to tell me that several things "sucked", such as the Alligator Bayou section of POR, and Washington D.C. She sort of "sucked" some of the magic out of my experience!!!!!

What do you think is confusing about the Dining Plan? I am using it for my first time in a couple weeks and Im nervous about making mistakes and wasting credits and then not having enough credits, etc.

Thanx bellnbuzz! POR looks the same as it did when we first stayed here 1993! Basically well-maintained - they just manicured the landscaping around our building today (Acadian House) and painted the walkways yesterday. As far as the DREAMS promo....I have seen nothing eluding to it at all!

I guess it is not so confusing once you have used it a few days. Just remember you can use your dining credits anyway you like. We realized today that we could use our "snack" option at our resort store to purchase an entire box of donuts or a bag of doritos perhaps getting more food than if you purchased something individually in the parks.

**Also, I would advise everyone who is using the dining plan to make your reservations ASAP!!!! Le Cellier was booked for the entire week, and the other restaurants in EPCOT WS only had openings at either 4:00 or 9:00.

Dined at Brown Derby last night, Artist's Palette for lunch today, and Rose and Crown for dinner tonight. Plan to use 2 dining credits for dinner at Narcoossee tomorrow. The only restaurant we could get into near EPCOT on Friday was Spoodles on the Boardwalk.

It didn't rain today!!!! My DS and I have asthma and the weather has not bothered us at all this visit. It has been hot but the humidity hasn't seemed that high.

I can't believe all the Epcot restaurants are so booked solid....
We go in November & all our ADR's have been taken care of at the 180 day mark.

Have you seen the construction at Pleasure Island ?? Heard they are re-doing everything there.

Soarin was great! Arrived too late Tues to fastpass so ended up waiting for 70 min! Tried to ride again yesterday but the info board said it was "down".

DH made reservations at Citricos instead and it was wonderful! Took monorail to MK afterwards in time to ride Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and watch Wishes!

Crowds were low today at Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach tomorrow!
