We arrived in Vero around 11am - the drive from WDW was not bad at all. Started unpacking and realized we were hungry! So, off to Squid Lips.

Thanks for the info about the cabana..............now on my list of 'things to try' for the next trip! When we stayed at BLT last year we looked longingly at the cabana pool which had all of 3 people in!!! Very relaxing!!! Where do you book this?

We just walked up and reserved it, but you can do it in advance by calling the WDWPLAY number where you book tours and etc. Ask for Jaque ( Jackie) as your personal attendant - she was great!

Okay, so here's a little backstory on what we are doing with this trip. Our first trip home, we visited VB. Fell in love with it. We've gone twice a summer every year since - split staying almost all our trips. We started hypothetically talking about relocating, and that talk just got more realistic every year.

Last year, we rented a little bungalow for a week to see if we liked Vero apart from Disney's resort. We did.

This year, we decided to do a real stay - a month in a family size house. It was surprisingly affordable - not much more than a weekly rental since this is off-season for Vero. DH and I are both working remotely - he is finishing a dissertation and I have a freelance writing job for the month.

My parents think we won't come back! I admit, I've already been tempted to go talk with the principal at the high school here. (But seriously, we have about 4 years before we can make a permenant move).

I've got two midweek trips to AKV and BCV booked for mid-month so that the kids can get some park time. Love that we are less than 2 hours away!!!

The kids and I went to the beach this morning while DH worked.

It was beautiful - but the kids ended up in the clubhouse pool.

I would love to hear more about the house--where you rented from. The one pic. looked like it is in a complex of some sort?? With condos??
