Live TR - the 35 night trip!

The house is clean, the bags are packed, and I've taken Lunesta to help me fall asleep!

We leave in about 7 hours. 4 nights in Orlando w/ our first stay at BLT, followed by 31 night in Vero. We'll do mini trips to AKV and BCV while we are there. I'm going to try to post pictures daily - hopefully to give a good sampling of what to do in Vero for a month!

Traffic is supposed to horrible tomorrow, so we're getting up early and trying to get on the road before everyone else wakes up.

We made it! Got up at 5am to avoid traffic and it worked! An uneventful 7 hour drive. We are spending tonight and tomorrow at the Grand Cypress. We spent a weekend here in December and I really wanted to try the pool/boats/bikes in warmer weather. I highly recommend it for offsite stays. The pool rivals SAB and you get a glass of champagne at check- in ( just what you need after an up-since-5 drive!!!!)

We went to OKW to eat at Olivias and then to DTD tonight. DS loved D Street.

Thanks to everyone that has come along for this crazy adventure. We are planning to relax here tomorrow and swim - BLT Sunday!

Photobob - we did rent a house for Vero - in Sea Oaks right next to Disney!

Well, we woke up this morning and started the day with kayaks! The Grand Cypress charges a resort fee that includes unlimited boats, golf, and bikes. Spent most of the morning by the pool, but an afternoon thunderstorm sent us inside. It's now overcast and cool, so we played golf (pitch and putt) and then rock climbing. Now, I'm sitting in a lounge chair looking at the lake while DH and the kids change back into swimsuits. I'm debating going to DHS tonight for fantasmic - this is the most chilled out we've ever been and I suspect we may get restless eventually and wish for more park time.

Hoping for better wifi tomorrow at BLT, so that I can post pictures of the Grand Cypress. We're also signed up for the Disney Mobile thing, we've already gotten a text from BLT reminding us that check in is at 4! Lol! We'll be checking in around 9am - I guess we better wear swimsuits under. Our clothes!

Yup, Priceline. 77$ - a really crazy deal. When it came up, I did the add a day thing.

It's been raining for awhile - but we just watched the new Alice in Wonderland on Lodgenet. I had not seen it before. We really like the Grand Cypress, but it will be nice to try BLT tomorrow too.

I checked in Monday at about 8:45 AM and there were rooms available, but I suppose that it being a Holiday weekend you might not be as lucky. Here's some pixie dust.

Greetings from BLT!! The pixie dust worked because we checked in at 9:15 and our room was ready!! We spent the morning by the pool, ate lunch at Epcot, and now DH and I are chilling at the resort while the kids hit the MK. I'm going to post some photos, but have to do it one at a time. Here we are arriving at the Florida Welcome Center for the traditional free cup of orange juice!
