We are having a wonderful time on our first real trip to WDW! We are SO glad we got the DDP--I could not have tolerated CS for all our meals, no way!! Our TS meals have been outstanding so far, CS adequate.

Sun--O'HANAS; Patrick was our waiter, he is WONDERFUL! Pegged our ornery 7YO in a heartbeat and gave him grief all meal--SUCH fun! The food was TERRIFIC! We loved ALL the side dishes. We all had a favorite meat, personally I found the sausage lacking flavor and a bit dry for me (DS7 proclaimed it his fav) We found Poly to be a lovely resort, though it reminded us of the Mirage in Vegas. Coconut races were a stitch!:lmao:
Service A+

Ambiance A

Mon--lunch Rosies (burgers & kids nuggets) & Catalina Eddies (chix caesar salad & pepp pizza) All decent. Chocolate cake is YUK & carrot cake not bad.
Food--C

dinner at BOMA; again SUCH a wonderful meal! We sampled a bit of everything. A few things we did not care for, but most we truly loved! Salmon & pork tenderloin were divine, polenta yummy, several salads I could have made a meal of (even the Watermelon rind salad was interestingly tasty!); desserts looked wonderful, but only one did I find tasty enough to finish a coconutmisu (and I am NOT a tiramisu lover); DH & DM loved the bread pudding. AKL is FABULOUS; I SO wanted to stay there, but that extra $1K was our spending $ for the trip...
Service--B (no complaints, but nothing exciting)

Ambiance--A+

Tues--lunch Sunshine Seasons; kids had drumsticks/mac & cheese; DH & DM had chix caesar salad; ahi tuna salad for me; everyone else said it was OK; I LOVED mine. And the brownies, rice crispie bars & key lime pie, well, WOW!
Food B for me/B- for everyone else

dinner--LE CHEF DE FRANCE; another spectacular meal! Our servers were VERY nice (unlike typical French servers!), and it really took me back to my trip to France many years ago! Kids had Burger/Chicken strips; neither cared for the cheese puff pastry appetizer I thought they would!

Appetizers--Fr. onion soup, escargot, fried goat cheese salad w/ walnuts & grapes, bacon, onion & cheese flatbread--these were all outstanding! (the appetizer choices here are terrific; we wanted to make a meal of them!) The kids ended up sharing the flatbread. All loved them.

Entrees--Mac & cheese for DS12:thumbsup2 ; pathetic ones the other 3 of us all ordered Scallops/shrimp--AND WERE SO GLAD WE DID! YUM! (not the spinach flan, though--and I LIKE cooked spinach!)

Dessert--ice cream & chocolate cookies for kids; apple crepe for DH & my fav dessert of all time--creme brulee! Very good; in my top 3 of all time.

Service--B+ (only cuz it was noisy & tough to hear them w/ their accents, otherwise A)

Ambiance--A

Today--Pecos Bills; chicken wraps, burger, taco salad (very small!), kids had chicken nuggets--these were VERY good! Food otherwise OK; But that fixins bar--WOW! I piled grilled onions & mushrooms on my taco salad LOL:laughing: Those mushrooms were da bomb!:woohoo:
Food C, except mushrooms & nuggets get a B!

We have been SO happy w/ our TS meals this week! CS has been OK. (CS desserts basically SUCK!) We were a tad full last night; we share w/ the kids a lot (hearty eaters--yet so thin! UNFAIR!), and we won't eat what isn't GREAT--and we try to pace the meal!

Clearly we are foodies, at least Mom & I, though DH has raved also. Kids happy.

We are doing Kona tonight, Le Cellier Thurs, WPC Fri (PH for DM & kids), DM & I doing Narcoosees Sat (DH & kids at POP food court); lunch will be F&WF tomorrow, Earl of Sandwich Fri, and probably Flame Tree Sat. Can't wait! Probably will do a separate thread for those! Gotta run, bye!

Enjoyed reading your reviews, thanks for posting.

Sorry, there was NO time to do another report during the trip!

Wed: dinner at Kona
Appetizers: salad, crab cake, wings--all REALLY good!
Entrees: teriyaki steak (pretty good but too filling); filet, shrimp & scallops, coconut almond chicken--all very good!
Desserts: banana creme brulee (OK...creme brulee is my fav dessert, and WDW struggled on this one overall); fondue--yummy; choc nut tart--DD loved it; white chocolate cheesecake--EXCELLENT
kids had chicken noodle soup & hot dogs plus make your own sundaes
Food A
Ambiance B
Service B+ (efficient, pleasant)

Thurs: lunch at Electric Umbrella
chicken strips were good! basic double bacon cheeseburger
cheesecake was good, too; adults shared the chicken as we were going to hit F&WF
Food B

F&WF--REALLY disappointed; guess we chose poorly; we felt quality was subpar; had cheese plate in Ireland; coconut rice pudding in India; and chorizo quesadilla in Mexico (we weren't hungry or nothing hit us) Wine was good, though!

dinner at LE CELLIER!--WOW WOW WOW! BEST meal of the trip (and these meals were good, let me tell you!)
Appetizers: cheese soup---OMG, the hype lives up!!; DH ordered a new item, spicy chicken and sausage on polenta--WOW! BE SURE to try this!!!
Dinner: filet (DM said best steak she has ever had--and we are from Nebraska where steak is awesome!); NY strip (DH was in heaven!); salmon with AMAZING butternut squash risotto for me (BEST I've ever had...DM said only better in Alaska!)
Dessert: creme brulee (yep, on a mission...right flavor like Le Chefs, but WHY does WDW think it should be pudding-like??!! CUSTARD-like, my friends, is the proper texture!), chocolate mousse (DD chocoholic in heaven); smores (presentation is wonderful; quality not as good); mandarin sorbet--had more of a grapefruit flavor
Ambiance: A
Service: A
Food: A+++++

Fri: lunch at Flame Tree
BBQ pork sandwiches, BBQ chix salad YUM
BEST key lime pie in the parks!!!!!!
Food B+

Dinner: Mom & kids at Planet Hollywood; felt it is typical chain food fare
DH & I ate at Wolfgang Pucks Cafe. Folks, these 2 restaurants are NOISY.
Appetizer: both had spinach salad--very good
Entree: DH ordered spicy chicken pasta & it has a red sauce (not his fav)
I ordered Alfredo...felt it flavorless; we switched, and were both MUCH happier!!!:confused3
Dessert: creme brulee (right flavor, wrong texture again...but closest one!!)
Key lime pie was more like key lime cheesecake
Ambiance: visually A; auditorily F
Service: B (efficient but not terribly friendly)
Food: B

Sat: lunch at WPExpress---WOW! winner of the CS category!
Spin. salad (same as at WPC); mac & cheese ( I HATED it, but everyone else loved it!); Pizzas:BBQ chix & pepperoni (DS declared it the best he's ever had); kids had quesadillas; whole fresh fruit for dessert

dinner at Narcoossees (Mom & I)
Appetizers: fried oysters & pumpkin soup--WOW!
Entree: Mom had lobster--I should have! Terrific!
I had scallops with butternut squash risotto; I had visions of the fabulous side I had at Le Cellier on Thurs; NOPE! UNDERCOOKED (yes rice was slightly crunchy!:guilty:) no flavor, scallops were fine but unmemorable. Luckily Mom shared some lobster!!!
Dessert--coconut mango panne cotta w/ orange chocolate coating & sorbet
WOW WOW WOW
YOAMD almond crusted cheesecake WOW WOW WOW AGAIN! (this also came with white chocolate with a beautiful impression of the princesses on it...SO cool...NO pics, my digital battery died the first day! )
WINNER of the dessert category!
Ambiance B+

Food A (except my entree--B-)

We had breakfast at POP Sunday morning; Mom & I each treated a couple to breakfast to use up our last CS credits; used every last one of those snack credits, though!

DDP ran us $180/day; CS ran about $60/day; TS ranged from $150-250+/day;(so we clearly came out ahead) DS12 usually cleaned up any extra food; we took a few desserts home; we were quite full most nights...we keep saying we are STILL full. But we truly had AMAZING dinners: Le Cellier will ALWAYS be on our list for future meals; OHanas, Boma & Narcoosees would be nice to visit again; Le Chef we might prefer lunch; WPC and PH won't make the list again, and Kona didn't have the ambiance we would like--PLUS there are SO many other places we would like to try on a future trip!

THANKS to everyone here for reviews...YOU are what helped me to pick the best of the best! (when we got a print out, the CM stated, "Wow! You have eaten at some great places...did you make ADRs 180 days out?" You bet I did! And the DIS made sure I knew it!

thanks for the reviews! we'll be going to some of the same spots as you - good to hear one of the new entrees at kona was tasty!

Thanks for the reviews! We also are doing Kona and Le Cellier in 2 1/2 weeks!

Thanks for the reviews! We also are doing Kona and Le Cellier in 2 1/2 weeks!

It is the all around fav meal for the adults from top to bottom....ESPECIALLY the appetizers & entrees. Desserts were more average, but some of the best presentation.

Kona was very good food, but service (still pleasant and efficient) and ambiance were more average.

VERY glad to be home...a bit of Disney overload for me!

Thanks for your reviews. So far, Le Cellier is the only ADR we have for our next trip - it was by far and away the best meal of our last visit and we can't wait to go again.

Thanks for your reviews. I agree the Dis helps!!! My family thinks I spend too much time here but they benefit when we go to WDW!!!!
