Live Reports May 8-28 (yes, 21 days) Solo & a 1st timer!

OK time to tell you about yesterday ... I'll keep it a little briefer since my phone did not like huge updates :). My flight from Phx was early, I got in at 4pm, boarded a DME bus right away and got to Assp by 4:50. I walked in the door and was greeted with "hi Bob welcome to Walt Disney World, here is a pin for you". That was cool!

Part 2. The lady at the front desk was suprised when she saw I was staying 20 nights. She made sure I won't have to switch rooms. I dropped my carry on in the room and hopped on a bus to the MK. I traded in my 10 day for a AP then rode the train twice around. I walked down to get my picture in front of the castle. I was expecting bigger! :) Then I caught a monorail to the Poly.

Part 3. I checked into Ohana and tried a Lapu Lapu, it OK but I liked the Tropical Macaw better that was next! I met a VERY nice couple from England at the lounge and we talked and talked. Then I had dinner! Wow, that was great! I loved all of it. Then it was out to the beach for the fireworks. I even found a empty lounge. That was cool but I think I'll like it better up close tonight.

So far a perfect trip. I've hit all transportation with great luck.
I had lunch today at LTT. The tri-corner sandwich was great! Now off to QS dinner and back to MK for the ELP and fireworks.

Tomorrow is going to be 92 also but much less crowded, today is EMH evening so a lot more people. Tuesday hrs are 9-9

Yay for less crowded! But boo for HOT! Hot is bearable, given lots of breaks in A/C attractions, plenty of water and a slower pace. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Make sure to stay LATE at EMH! Folks are usually gone by 11:00 or so.

Check can be cool or not. Glad you got the cool version with plenty of smiles and a first name! That always makes it nice!

Ahhh, beautiful way to start the trip!! A train ride around the world, not once, but twice!

I was expecting bigger too- glad I"m not the only one.

I did the ol' switcheroo too after my Lapu. I liked them both- glad you 're enjoying the "wares".

SCORE on the empty lounge!! I like the relaxing feel of the beach and fireworks- but you're right, it does lack the intensity without the BOOOMS!!

Have a wonderful ending to your fabulous sounding day!! Keep up the great work in updating! So fun to hear it all live.

Glad your trip got off to a good start! I do think you'll enjoy Wishes more from inside MK, although it is lovely from the Poly. Hope it cools off a bit for you.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait to experience the next 20 days with you. It will be close to the time for me to leave so it will help me get my Disney fix.

Some notes ...
This place is huge! I'm used to 5 minute walk from hotel to front gate at DL

I love all of the trees

The Swan sticks out like a sore thumb.

ASsp is nice. Got a quiet room away from the pool, trees outside of room, nice!

Heard a lady today tell her friend that space mountain is based on the movie Return to Witch Mountain! :rotfl2:

Perfect temperature in the evening

Massive amount of people waiting for the ELP. Last time I saw it was at DCA. It belongs on Main Street.

I'm going to catch the fireworks behind the castle for the fun of it, (and to avoid the crowd). I'll see it front and center tomorrow.

BTR is lots of fun.

Splash was better and wetter.

Pirates was surreal. Like a cheaper knockoff. DL version much better.

Glad I got to go on the Riverboat. It was supposed to be on rehab.

I'll be here until at least 1am. Sunday the 22nd I'm determined to stay in MK until 3:30am. I used to brag about staying in Disneyland for 16 hrs, so I'm doing one day at 19 hrs! Once.

Tomorrow morning is the Keys Tour. Looking forward to it.

Did the SFR treehouse. Ooh the memories!

CBJ was just like I fondly remembered it. Can't believe this turned to pooh at DL.

The peoplemover was fun, more fond memories. Much rather have back at DL than empty track for years and years and years and years.

My wife and i love Ohana's. My wife tried the Lapu Lapu and loved it. Not my cup of tea though. They serve you a lot of food and a good variety. Glad to read you are enjoying your trip. What was the pin for you got upon checking in?

Perfect temperature in the evening

I'm so glad the weather started acting right... When I was there last week, it was either freezing at night or hotter than Hades.
Splash was better and wetter.

There is so much I could say to this, but I digress... :rotfl:

Wow, that sounds like an amazing experience!

Tomorrow morning is the Keys Tour. Looking forward to it.

You will LOVE this! Aaron was our guide last Wednesday, and he was amazingly funny, witty, entertaining, and informative. It takes a special someone to be able to keep 12 people engage for 5 1/2 hours.

:surfweb: loving your report so far...

The pin was "First Time " and I got it from a CM at the door not the front desk!

The ELP was fun as ever.

Fireworks in 5 minutes :)

Probably last report until after tomorrow's tour. Talk to you all later :woohoo:

goodnight bhbob,

Can't wait to hear what exciting adventures await you tomarrow.:thumbsup2

Darned tootin', and AMEN!

I'm going to catch the fireworks behind the castle for the fun of it, (and to avoid the crowd). I'll see it front and center tomorrow.

I KNOW you're going to like it MUCH better front and center!

BTR is lots of fun.

Always!

Splash was better and wetter.

NICE!

Pirates was surreal. Like a cheaper knockoff. DL version much better.

Yeah, kinda a rip off at WDW.

Glad I got to go on the Riverboat. It was supposed to be on rehab.

Score!!

yeah, baby, that's the way!!

Tomorrow morning is the Keys Tour. Looking forward to it.

Have a wonderful time! I'd love to do that one someday!

Did the SFR treehouse. Ooh the memories!

I just did a write up on that one on my TR! Come on over when you get back!

CBJ was just like I fondly remembered it. Can't believe this turned to pooh at DL.

I guess I like both, but wish they added Pooh, not used CBJ for it.

The peoplemover was fun, more fond memories. Much rather have back at DL than empty track for years and years and years and years.

So sorry! Just another reason to hit up both parks!! :thumbsup2

Yo bhbob, hope you had a restful night and am ready to roll today:thumbsup2 My wife and i purchased dvc several years ago and one of our perks was 162 extra points. We used the points to stay concierge at the Grand Californian two years ago. People told us we would not like DL for various reasons:confused3. Well, we loved it for various reasons:banana:. I don't feel you can compare the two parks as a whole. Individually yes. I did prefer the Pirates ridepirate: at DL versus WDW. We would love to go back but the finances say no for now.

Thank you, I hope I score a table on the second level. I'm a people watcher, instead of going back to the room at DLR I just grab a soda, sit on a bench and people watch. :goodvibes

Subscribing! I think it would be so fun to go solo! We just got home on Saturday..my feet are still recovering. lol

We found a great place to people watch from inside. We ate dinner at Columbia Harbour House, and we sat in the little room that is over the walkway between Fantasyland and Liberty Square. It's painted dark gray. You can sit right by the windows up there and people watch for a long time if you need a break for your feet and from the heat!

The Keys tour was great and informative. I like backstage stuff! 5 hrs. Kate was our guide.

CH fried shrimp was great. I'll have to go there again.

Currently enjoying at coke watching Sonny Eclipse. Cute

I love Mickey's Philharmagic! Awesome effects. Going to that again next I think.

Stitch ride was blah. Could have been cool.

Currently 91, doesn't feel as bad as yesterday.

Got 3 1/2 hrs of sleep Sunday night, (too excited! )
Stayed in MK until 1:30am last night, another 3 1/2 hrs of sleep again. I'm pooped. I'm going to slow down and sleep in tomorrow.

Tomorrow is EPCOT, lunch at Mexico, dinner at Germany.

I'm going to see if I can try all of the specialty Margaritas at Mexico this trip, not the same day!

I like continuous loading at Peter Pan.

Snow White is better here than at DL. Too bad you can't have 2 rides with SW.

More later, Bob

Pirates was surreal. Like a cheaper knockoff. DL version much better.

I'm a Florida baby through and through, love everything WDW.... HOWEVER, one of the major things that I loved better at DL was Pirates... I'm a huge fan of the attraction, then the movie, even just based at WDW, but then I saw DL and it all made sense!! :rotfl:

While you mention taking time to stop and smell the roses, do it.. literally, both at MK and Epcot, they've got some gorgeous rose bushes.... take notice of them! The path at MK is one of my favorite places in the World... and down at the bottom of the path, where the swan boats used to be is a great place to sit and enjoy life.. and post an update! ;)

Enjoy Epcot..

I'll be there in.. 6 days!
