Live Report from the Beach Club

Hi there - Reporting live from the Beach Club!!! We arrived Saturday afternoon. Check-in was flawless. We booked a standard view and requested a room with a patio or full balcony. Boy was our request granted! We're in room 4598. It's a king bed with a dormer balcony but the balcony is real real long. We can see a little of world showcase and the BC Villas are just to our right. The room is a bit bigger than usual, it's a corner room. We absolutely love it. It's very secluded and quiet. The weather is great - hot...sure, but not miserable. The crowds yesterday a.m. at the MK weren't that bad, but we got there right at opening. We left around 12:30 and it seemed to be getting more crowded by then. After lunch we went to Stormalong Bay, then headed to MGM. This morning we did Epcot. Not crazy crowded. Had a great lunch at San Angel. All the CMs have been wonderful...this has been a magical trip thus far.

We'll be there in late July- I'd like to hear your take on the mousekeeping and the general conditions of the property. How's the pool?

Mousekeeping has been excellent each day. No issues. Even got a towel animal our first day. This is the first time we've stayed here since the rooms have been renovated and I'm very impressed. Much brighter and nicer. The room is immaculate!! I can't think of one negative thing to say about the condition of the resort except maybe the inside of the elevator seems a little raggedy which certainly didn't spoil our magic. Oh - when we first got here and walked in to check-in, Art the Greeter was there as was another female CM. They were so wonderful and cheery - it made for a happy entrance. All the CMs speak and say "hello" or "how are you today." It's absolutely a magical resort.

Stormalong Bay was lots of fun. It wasn't that crowded, we found 2 chairs yesterday with no problem. It was about 2:30 when we went to the pool. They are checking IDs religously which is a good thing.

What do the newly renovated rooms look like? I love the thought of BC, but the decor that is in the pictures on Allears really turns me off.

Did they just spruce up the room, or is there all new bedding? Would love to hear about it!

PamNc, glad to hear you're having a good time. We were at the BWV last week, checked out on the day you checked in. I hope the weather has been good. We had rain every afternoon. Gave us a chance to relax a little. Are there any special fireworks tonight? We are thinking of being there next year on the fourth.

By the way, I am from W/S too. Maybe I passed you on the highway last Satuday.

Pam, I'm so glad that you are having such a wonderful time. You certainly have a positive attitude despite the heat and crowds!

I grew up in Kernersville, not far from W-S & Mocksville. Have fun because it's hot here too.

Tell Uncle Albert HEY! There have been reports of burping in B flat heard coming from the BC. The CMs are looking into the complaints!

PAM: Dfi and I are heading to the BC October 1 for our honeymoon. We also booked a Standard room but requested a king bed and balcony/patio. 4598 sounds like the way to go for us too! Wow us NC'ers really think alike. I wonder if I should specifically request that room or just make the same requests you did (patio, king bed, non-smoking). Could you see fireworks from your room?
