Kim and I are reliving our teen years at King's Island. So we walk into the park, and Kim remarks, "I wish they had the ride times listed in one area so we would know what to ride. I have to laugh cause I told her that she is becoming more into Disney everyday!

Anyone else been to King's Island?

Have a great time and you better be riding The Beast and Son of Beast! :)

I just visited King's Island with family about 2 weeks ago! I rode most of the coasters. My favorites are Flight of Fear and Vortex! I always ride The Beast but Son of Beast is closed (don't know why). That park has great rides but I don't like the theming as well now. It is owned by Cedar Fair instead of Paramount.

It is fun but nothing like Disney!!!

Haven't been in a few years. Didn't have as many shows as I like, since none of my family is big on rides.

I haven't been there in years but do like the park. I am only 35-45 minutes from Cedar Point and haven't been there for about 8 years either.

I haven't been to Kings Island since the July 4th weekend in 1990 (20 years ago).

I am originally from Ohio. The first amusement park I went to was King Island in 1973!!! Wow, that's 37 years ago... (a REALLY long time ago) I think it had Hanna Barbarra (sp?)characters.

My family bought season's gold passes last year and everytime we went, one of us would comment, this is not Disney. There is no comparison to Disney and this year, the kids didn't even want to go to King's Island.

I live very close to Kings Island and I worked there for 2 years...It surely isn't Disney!

I am from Ohio. I go to Cedar Point every once in a while and King's Island as well. As everyone has said, it is not Disney. However, I like to go to King's Island for an occasional trip.

The last time I was there was a little over three years ago. Face Off is my favorite! :thumbsup2

We were looking for a short trip for the kids before school started last year so we went to Kings Island, it's about 4 hours from here. Then we lucked out and went to KI two days after Cinci schools had started back, we didn't know that when we planned the trip, but it was great because almost every ride was a walk on! I think the longest we waited was 10 minutes for Beast. It was so nice we are doing the same thing this year. Just 3 nights, it ain't Disney but it was fun.

The kid's are bummed though, they changed the characters from Nickolodeon to Snoopy. They liked meeting Spongebob and Patrick last year.

And I'm about 75 minutes from Cedar Point and haven't gone in about 10 years either.

Last time I was there, I was with my sister Marsha and we lost our Dad's plans for the new building he was pitching to the management and we had to run through the park looking for them on all the rides in this orange cardboard tube and...

Oh, wait a minute.... :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I remember that episode..

I was just there last Friday! We have gold passes so we go alot. No it is not disney but a 40 min drive is better than 12 hours lol. Son of Beast is closed due to people getting hurt (or saying they got hurt) on it. I spend most of my time is snoopy land or at the water park. The blue race is now forward (it used to go backwards) since cedar fair bought them. DS reached 48 inches and has ride a few of the "big boy" rides. He likes drop zone the best. Hope you had fun!

They are offering free passes to miltary and military retirees for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Since we live only about 40 miles away, I suggested to my hubby that we go. He said he'd be happy to go if I wanted to, but he asked me look at the ride offerings first. I did. We're old people and don't ride coasters anymore. I told him, "Oh, I thought this would be kinda like a mini- Disney right in our own back yard; guess i was mistaken, huh?" He laughed and laughed and laughed when I said, "I guess it's not..never mind then--not even for free." Ah, to be young and adventurous again! Hope you all have a lot of fun. I'll bet it's a roller coaster fan's dream!

Thanks for all of the stories. It's been about two years since we were here last. I agree, I don't like the themeing either. Had a great time, but we're getting old. Managed to squeeze in 5 roller coasters and that was plenty. Son Of Beast was closed, dilapitated boards and all. On our way to Belterra Riverboat and Casino. Wish us luck!

We live about 1 1/2 hour from Kings Island, but only go once every couple of years. My DH said the Diamond Back coaster is one of the best he's ever ridden. I don't do coasters, so there's not much for me there. We go to Cedar Point almost every summer. Tons of coasters for DH, and a few things for me. They have a really nice campground. We always camp in the loop that is right beside the Mean Streak coaster. Nothing like laying in bed at night listening to the coaster & hearing people scream! Being at either park makes me really homesick for Disney, though.

Good Luck at Belterra! I've been wanting to go there! Give a little report of how it is please!
