Hi all ...

Always wanted to do this ... post from WDW! Actually ... we're trying a house rental for a week (hence the internet connection) and will head to OKW by the end of this week. Well ... after some rain the past couple of days, things are looking up. We managed to hit the MK yesterday and it was actually cool due to the clouds! CRT was great ... we have been many times and it has gotten even better! They now include a nice photo w/Cinderella (taken in the "lobby") and the kids get wands, swords and light- up pins. There is a small "wishing" ceremony and it's just alot of fun.
We also managed to do the speedway, Buzz, COP (LOVE COP!!!), and checked out the new Hundred Acre Wood (a little small, but well done for the little ones).
We then came back for a swim and some shopping. Taking it all in small bites is the key for us ...
We're off today for Epcot and first stop is Soarin' ... I've said it before and I'll say it again ... so much more than a ride ... it's a religious experience! :cloud9:

Well gang ... I know it's not much ... but I'll try to report back. Anything you want to know???

Talk at you later.

We have always done CRT for breakfast with the princesses. This next trip will be the first time we do it at lunch. We have the dining plan so we booked lunch. When did you have your meal there? (breakfast, lunch, or dinner?) I knew that we got the photo, but I didn't know about the wands/swords and pins. Are the pins the ones that light up at certain attractions/parades? Are the wands big? I am trying to figure out how we will keep up with them/carry them the rest of the day. We like to buy our stuff and have it sent back to the room and not carry things. Our DDs will be happy with the wands. I will make them carry them the rest of the day.

Oh have fun.
I wish I was there right now!
But I will be soon enough
*pokes counter* MOVE FASTER
Keep us updated!

I'm glad that you're having such a great time down there. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip! :)

Am planning on being in MK 2 weeks from yesterday. I always love doing MK the first day which is usually a Sunday for us but this year we are leaving on Sunday and planning MK on Monday. Then I read that Monday is one of the worst days to do MK according to Touringplans.com. But I feel if it is not EMH for the morning or evening we should be okay. So here's the question what was yesterday morning like at the MK? We too are planning on going first thing in the morning and then leaving in the afternoon and then doing EMH at AK. Thanks for any input. :thumbsup2

By the way LOVE live reports, keep them coming! :cool1:
Have a magaical vacation. :cloud9:

Thanks for the kind words, gang! To answer a few questions and give you an update ... here goes ...

We went to CRT for breakfast and the wand was on the small side ... about 16" ... the sword was similar. The light up pins were small "wishing" stars that flickered when you turn them on.

We have also had nice quiet days on Sundays at the MK ... this was a Monday and it really wasn't too bad. We got there for breakfast at 8:15 (it wasn't an EMH morning) and we were out doing rides about 9:15 and the waits were minimal.

We've found that traveling "against the grain" - hitting the parks without the EMH works best (for us).

Yesterday was an Epcot day and we headed straight for Soarin' (still VERY busy) BUT managed to get fast passes and got on the standby line. Got on within a half hour (religious experience) and went for a bite at the electric umbrella. Went for fast passes at TT and returned to Soarin' for another ride. We then took in Universe of Energy (first time for DS7) it was fun ...
While inside the sky opened and put TT out of commision :sad1: well ... went "home" for a swim and lunch then over to MK.
We managed to catch the torch lighting at the Poly ... very cool ... er ... hot! The fire twirly guy is nuts!
Hopped on the monorail and went to a somewhat crowded MK ... saw Hall of Presidents (I didn't doze this time!) ... the sky opened up again and went had dinner at Columbia Harbor House (LOVE the tuna sandwich!). DD and I caught HM (walked right in) while DW and DS went to Emporium to get him a cute Goofy basketball statue. The first Spectromagic parade was canceled due to continuing drizzle so we (and the rest of the western world) decided to head out.
Well ... this report is a bit "dry" ... sort of a "just the facts, ma'am" type ...
Wanted to throw some info. at ya ... and give back to this wonderful BB!
Off to MGM today ... hoping for RRC, ToT, IJ, etc., etc., AND lunch at Prime Time ... a real favorite! I'm going to use advice I got on the DIS and request an area where there is alot of interaction (in the past it's been hit and miss).
Well ... talk at you later!

I have to have my Disney fix every morning. Thank goodness I work from home. After I feed the animals I sit with my coffee and visit the DIS for about 20 minutes. My favorite thing to read is live reports! thank you. Tell us all about your day at MGM. Are you going to see any of the wonderful fireworks shows during your trip? Illuminations, Wishes, Fantasmic. These are a highlight of our trips. Hopefully the rain is over and they want get cancelled. I hate it when that happens.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi All ...

Me again ... let's see ...

Yesterday ... got a slightly later start (needed the sleep!). Went to MGM around 10:00. DD wanted to hold off a bit on the "big" rides (RRC and ToT). So we got fast passes to Indy (a favorite of DS7). We then walked around a bit as we had lunch resies for Prime Time (a favorite). Managed to see the Narnia "show" ... it's tucked away between One Man's Dream and Millionaire (which, by the way is closing for good around August 16th :sad1: ). Narnia is not too bad as long as you don't expect too much. I won't say too much ... nice atmosphere ... some props and costumes from the movie. My advice ... hang back in the crowd ... especially after the movie clip ... that way you can check out some of the movie stuff alone without anyone rushing you.
We also went to Walt Disney - One Man's Dream ... always a must! I hope they ALWAYS keep this ... that's what it's all about (not, as you may have thought, the hokey pokey :) ).
Well ... off to Prime Time ... always fun. Then on to Indy ... and DD and I did TGMR while DS and DW shopped (he was TOAST ... must have been our late night swim the night before). Early to bed was our plan. Soooooooooo ... we headed out and crashed a bit and then off to dinner at another favorite ... Cracker Barrel! We fell in love with it during a couple of "road trips" to the World.
Anyway ... home to swim a bit and EARLY BED.
Today ... (gee, do you think I overuse the "..." thing?) ... ahem ... today ... DW's birthday! Off to Cape May for the character breakfast then I arranged for her to have a Segway tour. A stroll around the countries and then dinner at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. Maybe the weather will cooperate and we'll see Spectro. and Wishes.
All for now ... hang in there, those of you waiting to come down! May your wait pass quickly!
Talk at you later ...

Another day of fun, how great! Prime Time is one of our favorites too.

party: :bday: To your DW, Have a great day. My girlfriend tried the Segway, she worked at a college up here in NH. She loved it it was so much fun. pixiedust:

We're back for a mid-day break! Just in time for some storms moving in ...
We had a very nice breakfast at Cape May ... DW got a lump-o-chocolate cake w/candle and song while Goofy danced! Saw Chip, Dale, Minnie also.
Told DW about Segway during breakfast ... BUT ... she said she didn't want to be without us for the two hour tour. We told her we would stalk her and film but she wanted to do it another time (which she will). Soooooo ... called and cancelled and headed over anyway.
Checked out the great fountains near Imagination, went over to the Land to do Living with the Land (don't ya miss the old "Listen to the Land" song?!). DD and I then did TT while DS and DW shopped. They honored our fast-passes from the other day when we were rained out.
We all met in Mexico ... sent crazy e-mails and did the River del Tiempo ride. Continued around the countries ... did Maelstrom (walked right on). In fact, all of Epcot was pretty quiet today ...
Anyway, ended up having lunch at the good ol' American pavilion ... hot dogs, burgers, chicken fingers. Made sure to catch the Voices of Liberty ... a MUST on every trip! This group is unreal and so are the vocal arrangements (DW and I are both music teachers ... not that it matters ... they would be great if we were circus acrobats). Well ... we decided to head back and go for a swim (not yet ... still waiting out a storm) and head to the Crystal Palace tonight and general MK fun!
The temperature really hasn't been too bad ... clouds and breezes have helped.
I'll try one more up-date tonight ... tomorrow we move to OKW w/ no 'puter(gee, life's tough! We are sooooooooo lucky!) What the heck ... Disney is our one "vice"! Hello ... I'm Dave and ... er ... I have a Disney addiction.
Well ... that's all for now ...

Dave

Too bad she didn't want to do the Segway tour, but spending your birthday with the family is more fun. Sounds like she had a very nice day. Good luck with the move hope it went well. Have Fun!!!!! :sunny:

Hello all ...

This will be my last post from WDW as we are moving to OKW and I won't have internet access. I have to say, I write with tremendous saddness having learned of the death of that poor boy on RRC. I found out here, on the Dis. Certainly our thoughts and prayers go out to the family ... my DD is 12 and also loves that ride.

In fact ... I don't feel quite right posting right now ...

Here's wishing safe travel to those coming down soon - and for those counting down to a trip ... may your wait pass quickly.
I'll try to post a report when we return.
Talk to you soon.

Dave
