Welcome to Texas! Though I'm sure it's probably not exactly where you want to be right now. You can do the beach in Galveston, keep in mind it is NOTHING like the ones in the caribbean. But might be a nice break from the ship. Especially since you know you'll be on the ship for another 48 hours or so. You can grab a cab or shuttle into Houston, it's not that far. The Johnson Space Center is there and it is great. Though if you have to be back on by noon, you probably don't have time. Of course there's plenty of shopping in Houston if that's what you like. The Pappas family in Houston has some fantastic restuarants all over. Grab some Tex-Mex at Pappasita's. Their guacamole is wonderful. Anyway, have a great time whatever you do. We'll keep you posted about the storm and your car.
Right now at twopalms.com the surf is getting bigger. But I haven't heard anything about a storm surge yet. If so, we'll let you know.

The strand is one block over from where yall are docking, and there are some nice shops on it.

I agree with staylor--Pappasitos for fajitas and margaritas! Luigis on the strand for italian, and gaidos on the seawall for shrimp. the beach is not close enough to walk, but you could take a cab there or to Moody Gardens--a museum, rain forest, aquarium in giant pyramids. Johnson Space Center is about 30 minutes up the road, and you would go to Space Center Houston there (the public area of JSC)

Thanks for all the updates on the storm..

The people here are Very friendly...Its nice...

We wont be in Port much..Just until 1:00pm....

Just refueling and getting more food...

We booked another night at Palos..YUM YUM...

Had Brunch yesterday..That was also YUM YUM..hehe

I estimate about 500 people disembarked today...More room for us..Woo Hoo..

Will keep everyone posted..We have a special New Menu Tonight at Dinner...I may have to stop by to check it out before palos...

Its Called.."The Magic At Sea" Menu...

Now I wish they could make a pin for this cruise..haha

I keep watching the galveston port cam and they are still in port. I'm waiting to see the Magic leave!

I thought it was scheduled at 1:00 (central time?) and it is now 2:40 eastern time.

Hi all - its about 2:15PM and we are finally on our way out of galveston. They extended the all aboard time to 2PM for us. Immigration this morning was a nightmare.... officials didnt show up on time so what should have taken just a few minutes took almost 2 hours.....

Like Bobby said 500-600 people got off this morning in Galveston. Disney gave them transportation to Houston Airport and then told them that there arrangements from there was on thir own.

As far as we know we are still scheduled to dock around 12 noon on Monday and the Captain said he will update us again tomorrow.

The weather has been great here all week and we have had a great time with fellow DISers....

Ok this is what we said earlier in the Week ...


NOW Im Going to say that I Think due to the storm stalling off
coast of Florida .... that u will not be able to dock at the port
on Monday at noon and Think u willl Be on Disneys First Ever 10 Night Cruise....


And Is The ship heading some Place or are u at Sea For a couple of Days ?????

Curiosity is killing me.. What are they doing about shows? Are they adding new shows or skipping them all together? What about menus? I saw they added one tonight but did they do a repeat last night? Are there any activities to do during the day? What about kids clubs? I would love to see yesterday and todays Navigators. Did they give you all any type of onboard credit? Not that they were obligated to but it seems DCL is very generous when there's a disruption. How are the CM's handling the situation? Did they have a sail away party and blow the horn leaving Texas today? I can't wait for these trip reports!

I give all that are onboard credit for how well you have handled this. For me it would be wonderful to be stranded on the Magic or Wonder but I can see how being trapped and having other pressing life things in limbo could make someone angry. Everyone who has posted from the ship have had a wonderful attitude and we appreciate the postings.
