Live From The Magic March 29 - April 5

OK, I am starting a few days early again, but it is always good to have the thread started before we board the ship for a reference point. There is a fairly active Disboards presence with about 20 cabins or so contributing to the thread and FE's will account for 14-15 cabins, so lots of walking for those deliveries. You never realize just how long those hallways are until you have to do FE deliveries, but it is good to compensate for the extra food, beer, etc..

Since I will have both a laptop and regular internet access, I will try to post consistently, as i expect will Cruiscrzy and others.

Our first day on the Magic....

We stayed at the Radisson at the port last night. It was great!! The room was comfy, breakfast was good and included in the price, and the parking/free shuttle was great. We were the first ones to enter the port this morning.

Brent is the cruise director. The dining rotations are the normal rotations. We have plaplap. Pirate's night is tuesday this week which is great because we have Palo booked for wed. This is an Eastern itinerary.

We also booked the REAS package. The gift was a very nice ice bucket w/ tongs and we think 2 towels inside...we haven't opened them yet. We also got a coupon for a free 8 by 10 photo, rainforest passes and a premium bottle of wine when we visit Palo.

We also received the CC lanyards at checkin and a very nice bag w/ a notebook, pen, and 2 water bottles in the cabin.

That's all I can think of for now. Please let us know if you have any specific questions.

Wow - we did the REAS and our robes came in a HUGE Mickey shaped basket that we had to leave in the room. There was no way we could bring it home. It was huge and kind of ugly! I would have loved an ice bucket! Also, we got a photo frame but it's for a vertical photo, and the only 8 X 10 photos were all horizontal! So I'm taking one of the smaller photos (with the copyright) release to Costco to see if they can copy it bigger today.

Hi again!!

Thanks for the great picture of the Magic!!

The weather is beautiful today...not a cloud in the sky!!

I am not sure what movies are playing this week except that College Road Trip is playing in the WDW theater on tuesday and Ratatoulle is playing tonight in the Buena Vista theater for the 8-9 age group at 8pm.

Last night we had dinner in Parrot Cay. There were some changes to the menu including a yummy new dessert....smore cake. It was a chocolate mousse w/ mini marshmallows on vanilla cake.

Tonight for formal night is a new Golden Mickey menu according to Romeo.

Now off to a DVC member meeting....

So, they've gone back to the regular rotation? For a little while nights two and three were the same restaurant...wonder why they did that??

They've done that on the last 2 Western cruises, but haven't done it on an Eastern yet. It makes sense because Pirate night is typically the 4th night on the Eastern, but 5th night on the Western. There's no way they could get the rotation dining to work on the Eastern if they repeated the 2nd and 3rd nights. At least, not that I've been able to figure out.
